Alpine CDA-7998 Car CD/ MP3 Player

Pros: Clean signal, multi-function and features.
Cons: Only 4V, too many functions you need to spend hours!!

I have been using Alpine 7982JW (3 Disc Shuttle) since 1997 on 2 different cars in 2 different count ...

Pros: Sound adjustment. The angle feature is handy when the sun has display blacked out.
Cons: It messed up entirely too quickly for my taste.

I received this unit for Christmas of 2003.In February of 2004 the Phantom Face feature started screwing up. The thing did'nt want to close properly upon turning the ignition off. Half the time it wanted to stay out, what's the point in the anti-theft features if they screw up so quickly. This unit is an awesome unit as far as a wide range of features as well as superior sound quality. This is the second Alpine deck I have owned in 10 years and I have to say, for the price Im utterly disappointed. The manufacturer's warranty will not cover the unit even within the stated time frame because it was an internet purchase. This is another downfall. I can honestly say this unit has turned me away from Alpine for a good long time.

Pros: Easy to read and understand functions on the unit. Tons of output frequency options.
Cons: ipersonalize is a joke, never needed never used

This is an awesome unit one of, if not the best units on the market. I purchased and used for 3 years in my system and the nothing has failed on the unit. Phantom face mechanism works perfectly, audio adjustments out perform any other unit on the market. Highly advise getting your hands on one of these if you can.

I've enjoyed this unit very much. It's a joy to play with from the display to the time correction feature. The time correction piece works great you can hear the the front stage move across your dash has you tweek the distance for each speaker. I wish Alpine would have thought about the audiophiles that have a 3-way component set up plus subs. I suppose that will be on next years model. A color display would also be cool. I recomend this unit to anyone whose looking for the best.
