Pros: Interior styling and materials, SH-AWD system Cons: Bland exterior styling, interior and trunk cozier than others The Bottom Line: I'm between four and five stars on this one. The interior styling and SH-AWD are enticing, but the bland exterior styling and TL-sized interior hold me back.
Honda took a big chance back in 1986 when it launched the first Japanese luxury brand. However, the cars were solid, and sales proved all of the naysayers wrong. The Integra carved out an excellent rep among the sport compact crowd, while the Legend did ...

Pros: Great styling, interior details, ride and navigation system. XM Radio, NavTraffic & Bluetooth. Cons: All of the fun technology and performance comes at a steep price. The Bottom Line: My family loves Acuras, and for good reasons. The RL is one of the most luxurious cars I've ever driven and has every feature under the sun. I loved it!
My mother-in-law told us she had a surprise for us when they visited. She wouldn't let us in on what it was, but as soon as she and my father-in-law pulled up in the driveway we immediately understood. My father-in-law had traded in his 2002 Acura RL for ...

Pros: Handling, Steering, Ride quality, Gadgets Cons: 1/2 of voice recognition system is useless
Confused keyless entry system The Bottom Line: Manufactured in Japan (100%). Excellent vehicle. Worth every penny.
Handling The best i have experienced. I have not driven comparable G35 and E320 for longer then 30 minutes (test drive) nor, can i claim previous luxury car ownership. What I can say, however, is that entering a 120 degree, very sharp corner at 55 ...

Pros: The understated styling, richness of materials and great AWD make this car a winner. Cons: More speed is always appreciated. No standard wheel locks&splash guards at this price? The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a $50K or above sport/luxury car, buy it. If you are about to spend $40K on something, splurge on the RL.
This car is an unqualified bargain; look at the stability, comfort, convenience, safety and speed at $49K. Spending double the money might not give you a better car. Finally Acura is going back to its roots. Just look at their line; the TSX, TL, RSX, MDX ...

Pros: Price, features, ride, dependability, Acura dealer service Cons: None
Bought this car in July of 2005, reluctant to buy a first year model but went for it. Had been driving a 2004 TL, which I liked a lot but found a bit too cramped and also was wow'ed by the features and AWD of the RL when I saw it in the showroom.
What a great car. Not only is it completely dependable, it also is great on the road, handles perfectly. I can't recommend it highly enough.

2005 Acura RL

Pros: Bought the car and drove away. Works as advertised. The expected from Honda. Cons: I haven't found one yet but the car only has 1200 mi
I purchased a 2005 Acura RL and found it to be the most innovative automobile I have ever seen. It has a powerful 300 HP v-6 engine and an innovative 4-wheel drive. The electrical assist in the car make one feel as if they are seated in a computer. Most items are controlled by voice so eyes can remain on the road. The 10 speaker Bose system makes music and voice sound better than when they were recorded. Bluetooth phone allows hands-free use of a cell phone and XM radio allows reception even in remote areas--all by voice control.

Wow! Close to a perfect car (for me)

Pros: Smooth ride, lots of extras, really great stereo, lot's of high end power. Cons: Not really a stand out exterior design. Acura designers need some help from Infiniti
I most recently drove 2 Audi's over the past six years. Before that Lexus GS, BMW 525. The Acura is a smooth, refined vehicle with lots of goodies to help you drive, navigate and listen. I extensively test drove the Infiniti M35X and the Acura. I liked the Acura because it felt more solid, drove smoother and had an engine built by Honda. It does not look as cool as a BMW, it does not handle as nimbly as the Infiniti but, for me, it is near perfect. I limited myself to Japanese cars because both of my Audi's spent a huge amount of time in the shop.
Many of the magazine reviews talk about its lack of power off the line. How often do you drag race at a stoplight? But, passing on a highway or powering up an on-ramp, this car seems to have an endless supply of power and shoots through curves like it is on a rail.

Pros: All-round great car, state of the art Cons: Extra-firm suspension, wish it was a bit more soft
This is one excellent car. Far better value for the money than BMW or Mercedes or even the 2006 Lexus GS 300 AWD. Suspension is tight making for superb handling, making the ride just a little choppy but never unpleasantly so. Acura/Bose sound system is superb. It includes XM Satellite radio, which has to be heard to be believed; plus onscreen you know the artist and title of the music. Navigation system works extremely well, including voice activation such as "find nearest Chinese restaurant" or "find nearest gas station." It has Onstar including a Verizon digital cellular phone. Plus if you have a Bluetooth cellphone you can use the car's sound system to talk and listen.
It had two defects, both corrected by the dealer: a rattle in the suspension from a loose brake pad, and the Onstar phone had to be replaced because it would not accept incoming calls. Now the car has no problems whatsoever. I recommend it highly.

Head and shoulders above competition

Pros: Cheaper in price compared to competition. Cons: Missing AWD.
I want to specify how great of a car the 2005 Acura RL is. The ride quality is just amazing and is second to none. This car was made to burn up the highways and the acceleration on a straight away is incredible. One ride in this car is all it will take to become a believer.
