Pros: Swift and linear acceleration, impressive smooth-road grip, unique styling inside and out.
Cons: Spooky handling on rough roads, fuzzy on-center steering feel, steep pricing, compromised visibility.
The Bottom Line: Not one of BMW's best. You'll buy it for its striking looks, because a Mazda Miata is more rewarding to drive and half as expensive.

Pros: Torquey engine. Slick six speed cog box. The exhaust wail. One-touch power operated roof.
Cons: Harsh ride. An M3 is only $5K more.

Pros: Looks, power, transmission, power top and the Dr. Jones/Mr. Jones dual personality.
Cons: Run flat tires, hard ride, useless cup holders, no standard wind deflector,parking head in.
