Pros: Stylish, hardworking, great to drive, comfortable, price was right.
Cons: Gas mileage is a little low but it is compatible to a normal trucks mileage.

Pros: stable in turns
Cons: Poor mechanics, cheap interior, inferior quality, underpowered even with HEMI, many more
I have owned my 2005 Durango SLT 5.7 l HEMI since October 2005. I have had nothing but problems with it. The overdrive doesn't hold when going downhill. When in 1st or second gear in the mountains, the transmission cannot figure out a constant speed - the vehicle keeps accelerating and decelerating on its own. It is very inconvenient and sometimes dangerous. Sometimes first or second gear will not even hold the vehicle down - I have experienced acceleration to 30mph in 1st and 45mph in 2nd gear. The dealership cannot find what's wrong with it. They have contacted Dodge engineers and they say they are trying to figure out what the problem is. I can tell you what it is - it is a cheaply made car. The HEMI power is less than impressive - acceleration is worse than my 210 hp Jeep Liberty. The biggest LEMON I have ever owned. Do yourself a favor - don't buy this vehicle.

We traded in our 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe for our Durango, looking for something bigger that could tow. Boy did we get what we wanted in the 2005 Durango! We keep the third seat down, so there is substantial storage space in the back. Plus the seating is spacious enough for an adult to sit in the backseat next to my daughter's car seat without feeling cramped. We love the rear heat/cooling and the many vents up front. The driver and passenger seating is very spacious and comfortable, and could accommodate tall riders. The only bad thing (aside from the gas mileage/18 mpg) is the somewhat poor visibility. The assistance handles behind the driver's seat create a blind spot and the wide framing around the windshield blocks visibility going around curves.
