Pros: Inexpensive, fuel efficient basic transportation, decent handling for an economy car. Cons: Annoying toy-like sound from blinkers, less handling control than I'm used to. The Bottom Line: This is a sufficiently well handling, quick and comfy car for a family of 4. The fuel economy and price as well as awards make it a good deal.
Why Ford Focus? Recently, my husband's car got rear ended. Since it was a highway incident, we were lucky that it was a car-only injury. Farmer's Insurance was considerate and got us a 2005 Ford Focus to use on our mini-vacation trip to Crater ...

Pros: Mileage, lightweight, price, high quality for it's price range. Cons: Revs a little high, overall design is emasculating. The Bottom Line: Buy it for the reliability, quality, and good price. Don't buy it to look manly.
My new wife (of 2 weeks) bought the 2005 Ford Focus ZX4 SES, which is the high-end sedan, just under the "ST" performance version. She bought it new about 2 years ago, and we have since put about 24000 miles on it. We have been together 5 years so I ...

Pros: Well rounded car, sturdy on the road, good performer. Plenty of room for cargo. Cons: Limited rear visibility, larger persons may find front seats uncomfortable. Needs rear dome light. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a domestic compact ride, give serious consideration to the Focus ZX4 ST. It's put together very well, and is a solid performer.
After shopping for an affordable compact with good ratings, I bought the 2005 Focus ZX4 ST. This is the 4-door model with the larger 2.3 liter engine and 5-speed manual transmission. I've driven it every day now for three months. Overall, the ...

Pros: A domestic option for economy, Good Quality Cons: Not the best gas mileage for a small car. The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this only to a person who refuses to buy from Honda or Toyota
For years it seemed that Ford was known as a company who built powerful cars that threw economy into the wind. Cars like the Mustang and the F series trucks have been staples of power and size not gas economy. But times have changed and so has Ford. ...

Pros: Price, handling, space Cons: FRONT END CRASH AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY The Bottom Line: Great car if you never need airbags.
I'm updating this to include a new development and more information about 2005 Ford Focus. We were involved in a collision in February. Speed was not a factor but the wet, windy road probably was. Impact was just to the center of the ...

Pros: Interior space, quietness, rebates and incentives Cons: attention to detail lacking along with interior storage The Bottom Line: Ford rebates and incentives are hard to ignore, and there isn't anything glaringly wrong, so...
We traded in a Subaru Forester Turbo for this wagon. Partly for a cheaper payment and partly for the better gas mileage. Besides those two things, the biggest noticeable improvement in the switch was that the Focus was noticeably bigger inside. A ...

Pros: Good usable space for its class. Comfortable driver. Cheap to buy and own. Cons: Nagging fuel / engine problem.
Terrible gas mileage. The Bottom Line: Would buy this one again. Reliable, comfortable, roomy, decent service when needed, good value.
Having had five Ford products previously and virtually no serious repairs ever, I felt comfortable trading my ten year old Escort for a Focus Wagon SEL model (4 cyl, 5-sp). The first year has been virtually trouble free, and the car remains ...

I had a 2003 Chevy Astro Van, while nice, was not what i wanted to drive over the next few years. I had to buy it in a huge hurry and wished i had been able to get something else. So i set out car shopping and much by accident i found my 05 Focus at a ...

Pros: Good Stereo 6 disc cd changer in dash. Cons: Small Back seat and low head room but hey i'm tall. The Bottom Line: Great buy at a better price than Honda or Toyota love the rebates with the car.
Were you expecting something different from the car it replaced the Escort? Well some things are a lot different but the ride overall is still the same, when you accelerate it feels like an escort not that it's a bad thing, you do sit higher and have ...

Pros: Comfortable seats on long drives
Reliability
Good gas mileage Cons: It's nothing special to look at...styling is a little generic
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to a buyer who doesn't need an eye-catching sporty car. It's dependable and comfortable a good buy for a starter car.
I've had my focus for going on 2 years and 40,000 miles. It is the ZX4 model so it has great features like a 6 disc CD changer and MP3 player, heated seats and power everything. The new styling is nice, it's not quite as "bubble" looking as the older ...

Pros: Good acceleration, good mileage, good cornering, nice base stereo. Decent safety ratings. Cons: Final gearing is a little low for Turnpike travel. 2500 RPM at 60 mph. The Bottom Line: I'd buy it again. It is fun to drive, reliable and good on gas. Ample room, good quality and well appointed.
Contrary to other reviews I have read this is a great little car. I have the five speed, which is machined well enough that shifting without the clutch is a breeze. It only has a 2.3L 4 banger so if you're looking for neck snapping performance you're in ...

Pros: Cute car, great gas mileage, roomy interior Cons: Uneven tire wear, power loss, cheap doors The Bottom Line: I would never buy this car again. Actually it has made me never want to buy a Ford again.
I bought this car new and wish I hadn't. I got suckered into it by a salesman who swore this car would be great for me. I wanted something I could sporty that could be modified with after market parts, that was also priced well. After buying I noticed ...

Pros: handling, seats, strong brakes, reliability, comfort, fun to drive Cons: cheap plastic interior, old-school styling
when i bought this focus, i was in need of something affordable quickly. the corolla was so boring, the mazda3 and honda civic so expensive.
i decided to give a domestic brand a chance, since i've had japanese for 20 years.
it has not been problematic at all. i've been fortunate to have a good dealer as well.
i wish ford would bring the european model here though.
