2005 Honda Accord LX--great car, except for the brakes!

by weaversgrrrl
Jun 25, 2009 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: smooth, quiet ride, great acceleration, durability, and value
Cons: front brakes easily warp even after repeated machining
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend the Accord as a stylish, reliable, roomy, comfortable, durable vehicle.

One foot on the accelerator, one on the clutch. One hand on the steering wheel, one on the gearshift. Throw it into gear and watch it go, and go it does.  A beautifully accelerating powerful sedan that's both reliable and cool.  That's ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: VTEC, soft leather, Reliable, Moonroof, steering wheel mounted controls, side curtain airbags, ABS
Cons: 4cy doesn't pick up super fast. Warranty is only for 36k competitors offer 100k
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend. This is my second one in the same color ;)

I have had this car for the past 3 years. It's never let me down. I have it in black nighthawk pearl with tan leather interior. I tinted the windows and it's even more beautiful. This car is extremely reliable, as are most Hondas. The VTEC engine is very ... read more

Feb 18, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliable, excellent resale value, ergonomic controls, easy to drive, cheap to maintain
Cons: Ugly back on the Sedan, good at everything - excels at nothing
The Bottom Line: Excels at residual value and reliability. The Accord is a nice car with excellent reliability. After owning a 300,000 mile Accord, we didn't hesitate to buy this one.

The 2005 Accord LX Sedan isn't what I'd call an exciting car, yet at the same time I wouldn't hesitate to call it an excellent car. Since 1976 Honda has given us great Accords year after year. They haven't been the most exciting cars to drive, nor have ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 500% improvement over pre-2003 Accords, great syling, still has "new car" smell.
Cons: Annoying wind noise past 65 MPH, a few rattles mainly from seat belts.
The Bottom Line: The Accord is the best is has been, and can only get better.

I have owned my '05 Accord EX with Leather seats for over a year, and the thing I find most amazing about it is it still has that "new car" smell so highly prized by new car owners. And I'm pleased to report that I love my Accord almost as much as I did ... read more

I should first say this is my second car, upgrade from a 2000 Kia Sephia. I had driven a lot of new cars before desiding on this one and I am impressed and happy. I might not be a Ferrari but it deffinetly had some get up and go with 169HP. I have ... read more

A few months ago I bought a 2005 Accord LX 4-cylinder with a manual transmission. It is both flawless and unremarkable, and I can't decide how I feel about that. The Accord lacks the distinctive & idiosyncratic character you can find in a number of cars ... read more

Pros: Looks Nice- In and Out, handles well, has sporty feel, Good Mechanicals
Cons: Noise, Ride, Tires, Basic Warranty; and Falling behind Camry, Sonata, etc.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it if noise and ride comfort are sizable issues.

I bought an 05 Accord about a month ago on a Mr. Opportunity clearance from Honda. The price was great ($18,333,00) for an LX four door, four cylinder). I had a Toyota Camry 2004 Sedan. I traded it to get the many safety features that are standard ... read more

Pros: This is probably the best all around car in the world.
Cons: Everybody else knows this too so you won't be "unique."
The Bottom Line: Though your Accord won't stand out in the parking lot, it's probably about the best car in it.

I recently purchased a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 w/ leather. And it is overall a nicer car than the more expensive Audi A4 it replaces. (I wrote a review on it also) The EX V-6 coupe ($26,800) is a performance-oriented model, and comes with either ... read more
