Pros: Lincoln is comfortable, quick, and safe. Good dealer service.
Cons: Gas mileage, noisy engine when accelerating.
The Bottom Line: Great used Luxury SUV value!

We just bought the 2005 Aviator with 80,000 miles on it. So far, so good! It rides great. The interior and exterior are like new and all the electronics and hardware are working as they should. The navigation and DVD are nice to have and the back-up ...

2005 Aviator Sunroof Leaking

Pros: Comfort, accessories, handling
Cons: Gas mileage, poor quality control at factory
Our brand new 2005 Lincoln Aviator is dripping water from the light switch near the sunroof. The dealer as of today (10-12-05) can't figure out why. According to the two dealers, the Mercury Mountaineers, Ford Explorers, and Lincoln Aviators are starting to show the same problem. This is a $50,000 SUV and only has 282 miles on it.
Shame on you Ford for poor quality control. Doesn't someone from the factory test these sunroofs for water resistance?
No wonder the Aviator is being redesigned and downsized and being held for release until the fall on 2006.
Maybe Ford needs this time to figure out why they can't build a sunroof that doesn't leak....stay tuned because I'm taking it to a different dealer next week.

Pros: Great customer service. Rides nice. Nicely optioned. Quiet. Strong engine. Comfortable. Easy to drive.
Cons: Poor quality. Poor quality. Poor quality. Bad gas mileage.
Bought new, loved it...in the beginning. Shortly after the true lack of quality started to appear. Radio cover quit staying down, passenger mirror moves on it's own, went through three driver side visors because the vanity mirror cover kept dropping open on its own blocking the drivers view, steering the car to the left causes a shake in the steering wheel (been to the shop twice for this, no fix yet), a/c smelled like rotten eggs, shop twice, finally fixed. Two of the three Lincoln dealerships near me have closed, starting to figure out why.Too bad though, the service departments have always tried hard to do a good job. Very polite and professional. Car is always washed after servicing and a free rental car has always been provided if car needs to be left for a long period of time. Next car is a Toyota or a Honda.
