Pros: Quality, spacious trunk, improved seating, very low engine noise Cons: Increased road noise, not-so-smooth shifting with automatic, lack of standard side airbags The Bottom Line: Definately a buy -- would recommend it
Who couldn't love a Toyota? They last really long without having many of the problems typical of their American or European counterparts. Since the early '90s, Toyota & Honda have made quality their number one priority and the latest Camry is no ...

Pros: The 2005 Camry XLE can't be beat!!! Cons: NONE! The Bottom Line: Buy a Toyota Camry and it will save you money, and will be extremely reliable.
I bought a new 2005 Camry XLE 4cyl with almost all the bells & whistles - power everything, heated seats, CD player with surround sound, leather seats, etc. I have to say it is the best car I have ever owned or even had the opportunity to drive. It is ...

Pros: Excellent value for the money, flawless performance. Cons: One very significant drawback, I put too many miles on! The Bottom Line: Great car for the money, and would buy another one in a minute!
I drove 35 different cars before deciding on the 2005 Toyota Camry. I bought the 4-cylinder model and got the side and curtain airbags as an option. The rep at the dealership gave me a few extras at a lower price, like the cargo net and threw in a ...

Pros: Roomy, Comfy and Resale Value. Cons: Transmission shifting!!! and a Target for Thieves. The Bottom Line: Recommend because it works well all around.
I bought this car 4 months ago. The only major issue I have with it is the transmission. Slowing down to less than 5 mph and then accelerating (without coming to a complete stop) causes the transmission to kick into gear slightly lurching the car ...

Pros: Quiet, powerful, 24 MPG city, 34 MPG highway, and it's TOYOTA. Cons: Small side view mirrors. The Bottom Line: This is our open road family car. It is the ideal commuter for me as well, for all the reasons I stated in my review.
Our family has four Camry's, a 1992, two 1994's, and a 1996. I put well over 200,000 miles on my 94 LE V6 before giving it to my youngest daughter. I would say it has at least another 100,000 trouble free miles of service in it. When we went looking ...

Pros: Reliability, comfort, economy, size Cons: "C" pillar blind spot, lack of standard features The Bottom Line: Very good car for a family. Smooth ride and excellent record. There is a Camry in Toledo, Ohio with 475,000 mile still running.
This is a very nice car over all. I have the 2.4 liter I4 LE model. After reading up on other opinions it seems like complaints lean toward the radio and the trans. I personally feel as though the radio is fine, though I would like to see an aux input ...

Pros: Durable, cheap, nice size Cons: acceleration, appearance The Bottom Line: Great Japanese made car that is durable and worth the money
Known as one of the best car companies, Toyota does not disappoint with the 2005 Toyota Camry. Toyota has spent years building its name as one of the most reliable and durable car makers in the business, and the Camry encompasses both of them. Now if ...

Pros: None Cons: Would never buy Toyota, not even if you give it to me free. The Bottom Line: Wouldn't recommand to anyone because of the worse customer service. I can understand that once in a while you get bad product but no excuse for bad customer service.
Donated my Cressida 1989 because i did not want to replace the engine. Bought brand new Camry. Two weeks later it started to make noises from engine as well as from window weatherstripping. Took it to dealer for 5000 miles service and asked them to look ...

2005 Camry LE - ECT problems - No Dealer support
by fishermr

Author's Product Rating:

Pros: Apart from the transmission a good all around car Cons: ECT doesn't function according to specifications. Lousy Dealer, no support to resolve issue.
Great car - BUT on long inclined grades the car continuously shifts between 3rd & 4th gears until the cruise control is turned off. Dealership agree that the ECT isn't working properly, even took out another new LE that did the same thing. Toyota Canada say "there is no problem". I do lots of driving in the mountains and now I have to do so out of cruise control to prevent hunting.
The dealership offered to resolve the problem with my 7 week old car - me pay $5300 to change to a V6. If I didn't accept that offer they said I could take up the fight with Toyota Canada - lousy customer representation.
Am in discussion with Toyota Canada and will await their "official response" - I should have stayed with Hondas.

Pros: Love the ride Cons: Radio issue
I have had my 2005 Camry back to the dealers twice because of static interference when I turn the rear window defroster on. The first time the dealer had the car over a week. All was fine for about 4 weeks and then it started again. It is currently at the dealers again. Has this been an issue for others?

My 2005 Camry is better than my Accord.

Pros: Highway gas millage 30-33 highway with cruise control. Headlights really light up the road. Cons: Tires wear out fast. Paint scratches easily especially where door handles are.
I bought a 2005 Camry new after my transmission failed in the 1998 Honda Accord I had with 56,000 miles on it.
The Toyota Camry is the basic model, 4 cylinder, with automatic transmission. Everything I got came as standard equipment.
I have been very happy with it. If this car continues to perform the way it has been I will be a Toyota owner forever.
There is a lot of torque on the front tires when accelerating from a standstill. Easy to make the wheels squeal.
No problem on the entrance ramp onto the turnpike, 25-70 in a matter of seconds.

2005 Toyota Camry Solara Convertible

Author's Product Rating:

Pros: Lasting value, good looks, fit and finish, miles-per-gallon, more Cons: view to the rear, tires
This car is a beauty. I bought the base model SE-V6 to avoid the leather seats in the SLE-V6. This car rides very well, gets 33 MPG on the highway, and is appropriately quiet with the top up. The upgraded sound system is terrific. The engine is very strong, more than adequate acceleration. The fit and finish is exemplary.
The MAJOR drawback is the view to the rear, severely impeded by the head restraints in the back seat (these may serve a roll-bar function) and the top when it is up. The provided "boot" impedes the view even further; I don't use that at all anymore.
The trunk space is small; for me, a "who cares".
The tires are mediocre for treadwear. The cassette player takes up space and will probably never be used.
This is our second Toyota, the first and third being Avalons (2000 XLS and 2005 Limited). Would I buy this car again? YES ! ! ! In a heartbeat.

Our 2005 Camry 2.4 4 Cyl lacks in the MPG arena

Pros: Very Comfortable & Dependable nice car Cons: Poor Gas Mileage
We bought our Toyota in 2005 for the gas mileage now were sorry the best we have ever gotten is a little over 20 MPG I have a 2002 GMC Truck V8 that gets 20 MPG on the highway & a average of 15 MPG you would think a 4 Cyl Toyota Camry would be far superior over the truck I don't get it. The car is great other then the lies about the gas Mileage. I would have been happy with the low of 24 MPG let alone 34 MPG. its hard to believe that any one gets 34 MPG ours runs great & has always been well maintained I hope this helps for those considering buying one based on the Gas mileage as far as the rest of the car Its the best .

2005 Camry LE - 4cyl

Pros: 5-speed automatic transmission, quiet ride, radio controls on steering wheel. Cons: Rear posts obstruct rear visibility some.
This new 2005 Camry is even quieter and peppier than our 2002 Camry (that we still own BTW). The new 5-speed automatic is geared differently giving better pick up. ABS brakes are now standard. We opted for the 'side-impact' air bags (approx $650 option).

Pros: Smooth engine, roomy and nicely equipped Cons: transmission is a little weird
i put 210000 miles on my previous camry 93 until i crashed it. No headache what so ever, so i decided to buy camry again. I bought this 2005 for almost a year, smooth engine, very comfortable and very roomy!!! can't ask for more in compare with the same class with other mfg. Power is OK for a inline 4 engine, V6 would be a good upgrade!
But one thing that i have problem with is the transmission, my previous transmission is really great very smooth, but somehow with this new camry, i feel a little weird about it, dont' know what's the problem.
