Pros: Unsurpassed gas mileage, reasonably comfortable seating, good pickup and braking Cons: Appalling, unreadable dashboard displays; poor view front and back; bad gearshift design The Bottom Line: Loaded with design flaws masquerading as cool developments. There are other, much more drivable hybrids.
I had every intention in the world of buying the Prius ... until I test drove one. There are now several hybrid-engine cars available. I intend to buy one, but it won't be the Prius. The designers have had so much fun making the car "cool-looking" ...

Pros: Great fuel economy, unique look, lots of room, tight turning radius Cons: Prius haters, somewhat uncomfortable driver's seat, road noise The Bottom Line: This car is the best on the market for now for fuel efficiency. Get this if you can, but prepare for a long wait.
I never thought I could form an emotional connection to a car, but when my 1995 Ford Taurus died in March 2008, a new car was too expensive for me. My commute is 40 miles, one way and gas was climbing to $4 a gallon. I decided to look into a used ...

Pros: Roomy interior, gas mileage, easy to drive Cons: MPG not as high as claimed The Bottom Line: I would still recommend the Prius, just don't get all excited thinking you will only have to fill up once or twice a month.
Hubby and I decided to trade in the 19 MPG minivan and get something that was better on gas. At first we were going to get a New Toyota Yaris, but after extensive research we decided on a Prius instead. We bought a 2005 with 16,000 miles on it for the ...

Pros: Great mileage, drives well Cons: Cost, loud, mediocre acceleration The Bottom Line: This car should be bought if you're interested in good mileage, ecology and a well made car.
We bought our Prius primarily for the gas mileage. We'd heard the reports that it takes years to make back the premium, but since we owned our last car for 13 years, I figured it's a safe bet that I'll get my money's worth. Especially because I think ...

Pros: Fuel efficiency, cute pod shape, comfortable and roomy, excellent braking performance Cons: I hate the touch panel, rear window design could be better The Bottom Line: My Stealth Car sits quietly in my garage, awaiting its next chance to ensconce me in its pod and make me look way cooler than I actually am...
Okay, lets just start by setting a few facts on the table. I am not a car girl. What I mean is that, for all I know, my car could be powered by gerbils spinning in wheels. But
..I do know how to drive, and have been doing so for quite ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, Few additional costs Cons: beeping noise when backing, poor back windshield design The Bottom Line: This car is a great purchase because it is extremely fuel efficient and has low driving costs.
My first experience with the 2005 Toyota Prius was an interesting one. I thought it looked kinda funny and was going to be the stereotypical "under-powered" hybrid. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ride was very smooth and extremely quiet. The ...

Pros: Best gas-mileage 5-seaters on-the-road to-date. Gadgets you in an 05-car under $24k. Tax-rebates. Quality Cons: Short-lived OEM-tires, Traction-control timing. No touch-unlock features for rear-doors. Flimsy Rear-seat arm-rest. The Bottom Line: Compare to a "Mid-size" not compact, you paid for not just gas-mileage but also all gadgets you get, the peace of mind and the "Wow" from your neighbors
First NEW car I bought in my life. After over 40k miles still proud and please with it. (Avg mileage to date: 45-46 MPG) Besides selecting a well-round vehicle for the family, I was trying to reward myself with a new car for a career accomplishment. ...

We bought this car because we were getting tired of our Mini and were looking for a good sedan. The mileage made this our top contender, so we got on the list. 3 weeks later, we had it and got a lot of money for our Mini in trade. The mileage has been ...

I bought my Prius brand new a year ago this past November. I took a job that required me to commute 60 miles a day in LA traffic and figured the Prius would be my answer to many stressful days sitting on the 405. In the state of California Prius owners ...

We were tired of the big van and poor gas mileage. I've had the Prius for a week. I am currently getting 48 MPG. It seems like the MPGs are still increasing. I like watching the consumption screen, and learning how to drive more efficiently. This ...

After 77,500 miles on a 2000 Audi A6 Quattro, my family set out to trade our gas-hog A6 wagon (15-17mpg) for a green car, the 2005 Toyota Prius. We had been eyeing the car since it first came out, but didnt need a new car for a long time. ...

Pros: Feels like the perfect vehicle Cons: Can't convince my wife to buy one--she's going for the Element. The Bottom Line: Everyone should drive one of these because you'll save money on gas, and help save the planet in the bargain.
I waited 8 months to get my Prius, and finally received in in October 04. I've been driving it now for 9 months. I ordered Tideland Pearl for my Prius' color--really it's kind of a 'light ash' color with the barest hint of green (my wife claims). ...

Pros: Good gas mileage, no shortage of power, spacious interior, breeze to drive and maneuver. Cons: Only a few deficiencies in the GPS. Nothing on the car. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. All other cars wish they were able to operate so well and efficiently as the Prius.
I noticed the detailed reviews by the other Prius owners so I won't bore you with the basics. Instead, I'll write only about my unique experience with this car. About 4 weeks ago my wife and I purchased a Prius as her primary car. Originally she ...

I read somewhere that Prius is Latin for "to go before". A clever name for a very clever car. The Toyota Prius is a Hybrid vehicle. It uses both a gasoline motor and a Ni-MH battery in conjunction with each other to give you optimum gas mileage. ...

If you like economy sized, convenient, gas-saving cars, and or helping the environment, BUY IT!
I bought my car about a month ago and it's been running great. I enjoy the smooth ride and how many miles I can drive without filling up. I had a '98 Honda Civic that would need a fill up every 2 weeks because I drive over 400 miles per week. But now ...
