Pros: Tiny, light, lots of options, great resolution, good zoom... Cons: Buttons may be a bit small--but it's a small camera, what do you expect?
Three years ago, I got my first digital camera. The Olympus Camedia C-3000 did me well. With 3.34 megapixels resolution and a 3x optical zoom it was at the top end of consumer models. Time has not treated the old dinosaur well. It now is heavy, ...
Pros: LONG battery life, LARGE LCD screen, sleek design, best shot mode, ease of use, Cons: Afraid to accidentally hit on/off button while in pocket...otherwise, NONE
I bought the Exiliim EX-Z55 about 4 days ago and WOW! It is simply AMAZING! I previously owned a 2 megapixel Olympus Digital cam(forgot model) and this move to such a gret camera has been a giant step! Firstly, I love love love the 2.5 inch LCD screen ...
Pros: Small and thin, light weight, good picture quality, easy to use, lovable styling Cons: None
The Casio EX-Z55 is especially notable for two salient features not found in other ultra-compact, ultra-thin digital cameras: 1) A *huge* 2.5" LCD screen (vs. 2" on the slightly cheaper Z50). You probably have seen labels on other tiny cameras that ...
Pros: Small, lightweight, excellent software, top quality pictures, long battery life without recharge, large screen, viewfinder. Cons: The small on/off switch.
I've had my Exilim for at least a year now and absolutely love it. I wanted something small enough to keep in my purse for those impromptu moments with family and friends or a never-to-be-seen again scenery shot. The decision to buy this particular ...

Pros: 2.5 screen really helps you read the menu better. The battery life! Cons: LCD blacks out when images are being processed. Pics can be dark.
I previously owned a Exilim EX-M2 Camera and lost it my last day in Germany. :( That being said when it came time to buy again I wanted another Exilim but which one? The EX Z40 was tempting but when you buy a camera you are buying for long term and you ...
Pros: Pentax lense, 400 shot battery life, usb docking cradle, super large 2.5" lcd screen Cons: Large lcd might scratch quickly, may be too small to operate for some w/large hands.
I was comparing the Casio EX-Z55 vs. Pentax Optio s5i. I needed a ultra-compact camera that I could carry in my pocket and bring w/me anywhere I went, powered up quickly and had simple point and shoot features. I finally decided to purchase the Casio ...
Pros: 2.8” color display,6x optical zoom and an 8.5 digital zoom Cons: Blurry pictures,
The reason that I purchased the Traveler Digital Camera is because I wanted a way to capture pictures. I have always enjoyed taking pictures and wanted my own camera to do so. What To Love About This Digital Camera The traveler has a 6x optical zoom ...
very nice but a couple complaints by brmcquee ,May 14 '05
Pros: nice looking, giant screen, good size, GREAT battery life, quick shutter speed and startup speed Cons: need a big docking station for photo transfers and charging, the software's not great
only bummer, for traveling you need to carry around a docking station with both USB and power cables. My friend bought has a 5mp canon that uses AA batteries (no need for a charger), and has a USB cable that plugs directly into the camera for transfers (no bulky docking station needed). It would be much easier to just carry around one cable. But other than that it's really sick, and I am really impressed with the battery life. the software isn't great, but I'm not sure its much worse than from other brands.
I have had two digital cameras both Kodak EZ-Shares. I was happy with both of my Kodaks until one day my friend bought a Casio Exilim EX-Z50. I couldnt believe how small it was and how great the photo quality was. It had a good battery life as well. So I decided to get a Casio. However, with the Kodak's, battery life was one of their lacking points. Therefore I wanted something with a looooong battery life so I went with the EX-Z55. IT IS AMAZING! I love the Best Shot feature and the pictures come out great and the battery last for about 400 shots.
I just bought it about a week a go for $275 on www.butterflyphoto.com
I really like this camera a lot!!! It is wonderful! The LCD screen is perfect and so is the size! My ONLY problem, which is tiny is that when you are taking a picture in a very dark room you cant see it very well on the LCD screen, but once you take the picture the flash has worked wonderfully. The flash can light up an almost pitch black room! The batery lasts forever! It is also a very attractive camera. I got the gold kind from Circuit City. Also the price is good for the camera. Also, when I bought mine from Circuit City I recieved a free memory card! so now I can store over 200 pictures! What a great deal! This camera is perfect!
Pros: Size, Ease of operation, battery life, screen size, speed that pictures are written to memory. Cons: Two "on" buttons can be accidentally activated in pocket, etc., video mode and features.
I, too, came to this camera after an Olympus and others I found agonizingly difficult to operate with their tiny symbols and needlessly complicated menu logic.
The Exilim EX-Z55 has been a dream! As others have mentioned, it's ease of use, fast memory-writing, long battery life, large display and perfects size and weight make it perfect to slip in the pocket for a short or long trip. At a recent local air show, I effortlessly and in bright sun, used the color display to move back and forth from still mode to video and other changes in just seconds!
Only "cons" would involve video which needs to be upgraded and also to allow zooming while shooting. I, too, have occasionally touched the button that turns the camera on, (extending it's lens), while reaching for it in my pocket or in it's case. A bit of manual exposure control would be a plus but that's a very minor item. With the new automatic macro mode, I am unclear why there is still a macro setting.
GREAT LITTLE CAMERA PACKED WITH FEATURES by ezyemail ,May 02 '05
Pros: Multi scene modes, small size, battery life, price Cons: CD manual,No Burst mode
I am a pro photographer and couldn't believe this little camera! WOW!
My old Sony Cybershot needs a new home, it cant take pics in low light, but my new casio 55 can!
The video camera on this puppy is so clear and crisp! Its unreal.
Battery last forever, I repeat!! THIS BATTERY LASTS FOREVER!!
My old sony has 2 batteries, and both get blasted by this one casio battery!
If you want a book manual , call Casio (800)706-2534 and ask them to send the "entire manual" for this model. People were mad at the CD manual this camera comes with and wanted a book instead. They will send the book free.
Also, call Casios toll free tech support for any questions about this cameras features. I learned alot from a Tech person I called.
This is just one great little camera. We were going on a cruise vacation to Mexico and both I and the wife needed new cameras. For myself I got the latest and greatest from Nikon the 8800 and she got the Casio which she just loves. The interesting thing was that on vacation no one came rushing over to look at and wow my new Nikon but they sure did with her. It seemed like very time she took a picture someone would come over and ask about it. It is simple to use, ultra small and takes wonderful photos.
awesome
Pros: small, huge screen, easy to use, lightweight Cons: nothing so far
We ordered this camera a few weeks ago from Best Buy, we love it. It's small like I wanted and has great features like my husband wanted. We haven't used it that much but are planning to use it a lot in the near future (baby on the way). It's very very small and will fit in your pocket, the screen is huge and very clear.
I love this camera, I am so glad we bought it!!
