Pros: Quality; safety; ease of use; comfortable; lightweight; jogger, stroller or bike trailer... 3 for 1!!!!! Cons: costly, hard to find retailers, on the bulky side for transporting in a trunk.
I LOVE my Chariot Cougar 2! I have two girls, ages 1 and 3 who like to go for walks but don't always walk. They are in that in-between age that they like to ride or walk when they want. I have had my fair share of strollers over the last 3 years so I ...
Pros: High quality, safe, well protected from elements, very comfortable for children Cons: Very expensive, storage limited, add-ons cost more, needs hand brake for jogging
Overview We have a Cougar 2 X-Country unit. In Canada (where they're made) they can only be bought at local bike shops, and do not come bundled with any accessories. Attachable units include the jogging system (which I've reviewed separately for ...
Pros: very well designed, easily to use (even the first time), comfortable for the kids Cons: still big when folded down, expensive (but worth it)
I will preface this review by saying that today is the first day we used the new bike trailer so my experience is limited, but I am so pleased with it, that I was inspired to write a review. I am a 40 year old stay at home mother of two looking to get ...
Pros: Everything. Solid build, durable hand stitched fabric, comfortable ride, attention-getting looks. Cons: Expensive (but worth it). Attachments usually not included with X-Country Series.
I don't know what took us so long to get one of these for our 2-year old and 11-month old, but it has been one of the best purchases we've ever made. While we were on our way to look at a Burley d'Lite at REI (after researching it for about a week), we ...
Pros: Different attachments, lightweight, super wheels, rain and bug shields, reflective material "built in"...terrific stroller. Cons: The only con might be the cost, but it is totally worth the money!
I bought a Chariot Carrier Cougar 2 for (go ahead and laugh) my two pugs. The pugs and I love to go for long walks/runs, but their smashed-in faces prevent them from going very far. I searched all over for a jogging stroller that would accommodate both ...
Pros: Engineering, versatility, design, function, quality, real world application Cons: Bulky for the trunk, just fits with one conversion kit.
When I saw that the Cougar 2 and all conversion kits were 20% off at REI, I pleaded with my wife to bite the bullet and spend the $$$ to get it. We have a 2 yr old and 3 month old and a big need for two seats. I really, really wanted the versatility the ...
Pros: covered cockpit, comfy for child, ample storage, awesome shocks. turns easy and glides thru any terrain Cons: plastic cover a little flimsy.wish it can be collapse like a wheel chair.expensive
We debated for months if we should purchased this stroller or the Bugaboo strollers. Then we moved to Northern Canada, the Bugaboo stroller was immediately strike off the list. We don't have roads up here, everything is either ice or hard gravel. We are ...
Pros: Toughness, adaptability, size, protection from elements, smooth ride Cons: Not a day-to-day stroller due to disassembly requirements to fit in vehicle.
We bought the Cougar 2 while we still had only one child, hoping for a second at some point; however, we knew that even if the second didn't come along, the double was very useful. It stows so much gear inside, and with the optional rack that is ...
Pros: Easy to use, well made, smooth, good area for groceries, etc. Good lower line model Cons: Still large when broken down. Pricey but worth it.
We bought our Chariot a week ago. I have used it many times since. It is well made, easy to use, solid and sturdy over all terrains, from the road to uneven sidewalks to off road on trails. I searched high and low and felt this was the best option in our price range. I know a few people who have cheaper models and have looked at them, they are no where near this model.
I had a Burley bike trailer but also wanted a jogger stroller and decided upon the Cougar-2. I am glad I did. As a jogger this is one of the best I've used. It tracks well, good balance, comfortable and safe for the kids. When you add the fact that with a conversion kits it is an exceptional trailer and even cross country skier, this is an amazing unit. Far superior than any Burley. I was concerned about storage space and having a stroller that can do it all solves my problem. It breaks down fast and travels well, in my truck and wife's wagon. The conversion kits are nice and store well on the stroller but the cost adds up fast. The brake kit for the stroller looks a little hokey but works well and I suggest getting it, especially if you run hills. The cost was a little more than I had planned on but when you add up all it can do it's "well worth it", and it also helps I got a great deal from REI.
Pros: everything- love the fact that it can be used for so long (up to 100lbs) Cons: bulky, big price tag (but worth every dollar)
I researched this stroller extensively before I went and spent the money on it- you have to admit they come with a pretty hefty price tag. Well you get what you pay for in this case, we love this stroller- and so does our 4 month old daughter, I take her for walks and runs for an hour and a half almost every day, she just sits in her sling and gazes out the side windows. I love the versatiliy of this stroller, I have the strolling, jogging and cycling attachements and am really considering the ski attachment for at the cottage in the winter. I also like the fact that this stroller takes on any terrain and takes no effort to push it.
A con as another reviewer commented on is the fact that the plastic cover is only held down by one piece of velcro, we have put another small strip down each side so that in the winter it is not as drafty as before.
This is an awesome stroller by catherinewitt ,Sep 21 '04
Pros: design, ease of use, rain and bug cover, comfort of ride. Cons: a bit bulky in back of car.
I bought this for my two kids. The baby never liked the infant sling, but other than that it's been the best stroller for walking or biking with two. I love the fact that the handle can reverse and be higher because I'm tall and it's much more comfortable to me that way.
The No Excuses Stroller by julie_rosanna ,Mar 23 '05
Pros: Can go anywhere and do just about anything you do. It's very well made. Cons: Expensive but worth every penny
This is the best thing I've ever bought. This stroller should be called "The No Excuses Charriot" because once you own it you can do anything you want with the little one, without feeling guilty he's getting rained on, windblown or baking in the sun. This stroller has helped me achieve my fitness goals in triathlons and marathons (hasn't done much for my swimming but I'll settle for 2 out of 3.) Expensive but worth every penny. Can go anywhere and do anything, although I wouldn't bring it to the mall to shop around in. I gotta hand it to those Canadians...it's the best investment I've made since having my son.
Pros: Great design, great versatility! Cons: A bit spendy but well worth the money
First, this is listed as a jogging stroller, but this unit also converts to a bike trailer, ski trailer, and a walking stroller. Also, the price listed is for the jogging stroller kit. The chassis is about $280. Disclaimer: I am not a jogger, but I can attest to the bike and ski adapters. The design of this unit is awesome, each time we use it, we find some new design nicety or clever design feature. Very well built. I chose this one over the Cheetah, because the Cougar has an adjustable suspension an a little bit better wheels. We now can go biking or skiing as a family and life is that much better.
Pros: Versatility - works perfect as stroller, bike trailer and crosscountry trailer Cons: bulky, but not heavy.
Had it for about a year. Bought it initially as a bicycle trailer - works great for that. Used it with the cross-country attachment - still works great, baby goes to sleep in no time at all, is easy to pull. Went on medium-difficulty trails no prob. And when we took baby out and put on her own little skis (she's two), she imitated the motion she'd seen for quite a while and went chugging down the trail. Also works great as a normal stroller with the stroller wheels on. It's fairly huge (we have the two-seater version) but then the wheels come off easily if you have to stow it in a tighter space, like a VW Passat trunk.
We purchased Cougar 2 to be used mainly as a stroller. With the infant sling it seemed to us as a perfect solution. Problem is that the fabrics starting falling apart after one month. I am not sure if we are just unlucky but regardless, customer support was useless... For the price we paid we expected more.
Pros: Very durable! High quality and high resale value. Very lightweight and well worth your investment. Cons: Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
My Brother-in-Law is someone who will search high and low for something of high quality and with chariot he's found one. He has a single and a double (older models) and he wouldn't settle for any less! He and his wife are extremely happy with it and they have a high resale value when their kids have grown out of it. Or you could contonue to use it as a cargo carrier.
My cousin bought a cheapo other brand kid carrier from wall mart made in china or taiwan (for $300 cdn. I wouldn't consider cheap) however it fell apart in the first year! Very poor quality. Would you trust your kid in something made of low quality?
The Chariot is made in Canada, of course I'm totally biased as a Canadian but it is extremely well built! I can attest to that, those other brands many of which are built in Asia are of extremely poor quality.
