Pros: PAL/NTSC converter, 110V/220V power supply, very portable, low price. Cons: Poor reliability, Short warranty,
When I first bought this player, I was very enthusiastic. I purchased it from a vendor who sold it as a region free unit. On the surface, this player has a lot of things going for it. It's got a small form factor and weighs next to nothing, making it ...

Pros: It's small and it's a DVD player for a good price Cons: It doesn't play many DVDs well at all
This DVD player will only play PERFECT DVDs, these are DVDs that you bought and were brand new out of the box type things, and even then it doesn't play some of them very well... Portability This is the main reason that I bought this DVD ...

Pros: Size, Cost. Cons: Size and cost don't matter a hoot when it won't work!
I purchased one of these players for Christmas, 2004. After playing the first 6 DVDs o.k., the unit began freezing the image and sound, skipping entire portions of movies, and eventually refusing to play any DVD except the first few minutes. I took it ...

Disappointment
by kkfoster ,Mar 20 '05
Pros: lightweight, compact, easy to use Cons: Not very durable
I bought this dvd player solely on the basis that it was quite affordable at $27.00. I noticed it wouldn't play videos I rented from a local store and only thought that it was the dvds, not the player. I've now had it for about 6 weeks, and it only has played 4 videos without any problems. My latest nightmare was my purchase of a brand new dvd, and it skipped all over the place on the very first play!
We're off to shop now for a more durable (and probably more expensive) dvd player. Save your cash on this one.

Plays all code dvds
by jerzabek ,May 08 '05
Pros: Code free setting will play ANY DVD. Price, portability dual voltage great for traveling... Cons: for this money...?? It has no cons
I bought mine at J&R (less than $30). This unit required a set of codes to play European DVD. This unit will play ANY DVD when in code free setting. Remote is OK and unit was trouble free for 6 mos already. I am very happy with this product it is also portable and it supports dual voltage.

Don't waste your money
by mccoy613 ,Feb 12 '06
Pros: A lot of functions, Volume control/contrast control, small Cons: Lasted less than 5 months, skipped around all the time, not durable
As a college student this seemed like a cheap and great way to watch DVD's in my dorm room. And it was, for the first couple months. Then it started to skip movies that were fresh from the package and sometimes didnt even play them. By placing something heavy on the lid we were able to make it work for another month but it went dead after that. This dvd player is very cheap but is also a horrible product. I wouldnt waste your pocket money on this item.

waste of money
by cherrybomb1956 ,Sep 06 '06
Pros: size and cost Cons: not dependable at all.
lifespan--about 10 dvds
I thought this was going to be a good deal. The size was just right--very small and sleek. The price was great too. BUT, you do get what you pay for.
This unit lasted only long enough to play 10-12 movies. I was really disappointed. What a waste of money. I am truly sorry I bought it and will never buy any thing from this outfit again.
Purchasing another one tomorrow and will go with something of quality.

Flawed design, not worth even a cheap price!
by onepercent1 ,Apr 02 '05
Pros: Portable.
Cons: Horrible performance, poor warranty and support, terrible quality.
The Coby DVD-207 performed poorly from the start. For
the low price, all I expected was a portable player
that would perform the basic functions of playing back
a DVD. However, the video skipped constantly, and the
remote had to be aimed perfectly at the player within
about 6 feet to function. Factory manufactured DVDs
would often "crash" halfway through a movie,
requiring the player to be reset in order to continue
watching. After 87 days and about 10 movies, the center
spindle of the DVD player broke, leaving fragments of
plastic inside the DVD player. Needless to say, the
player is now useless. The warranty is 90 days, so it
cannot be returned. Besides, the warranty requires that
the purchaser pay the cost of shipping to the warranty
center, plus $10 for return shipping, which is over 1/2
the cost of the player.
