Coby: The Starting Point of All New Products

by chrisbilal , Jul 27 '04
Pros: Cheap, Backlight, WMA, HOLD, Voice Recorder, Expandable, Lightweight, Power Save
Cons: Cheap, Average Resistance, Plain design, low volume, crappy headphones, USB 1.0, menu, no bass
In need of trying something new and tired of carrying a bulky 6 pound cd player around and a small collection of cd's. I began to look for other alternatives that were going to be less of a hassle to me. It me sound like I have just been introduced to ...

A Great MP3 Player

by white_eskimo , Jan 29 '04
Pros: small, lots of features-yet easy to use, big display, carrying strap.
Cons: when you record stuff, you cant hear it very clearly, bad headphones
The COBY MP-C440 was the cheapest MP3 player i found at Fry's electronics. It has 128 MB of flash memory, which can hold about 30 songs of about 2 and a half minutes each. If you are ever in a situation in which you have to record something, the COBY ...

Player is OK, but customer service left a bad taste in my mouth
by techie-guru ,Aug 11 '05
Pros: I plays music.
Cons: Can't see display outdoors, is a powerhog.
I got this MP3 player as a gift for my wife on sale a couple of months before the her birthdate. When we went to open the box, the USB cable was missing when it stated that it should be included. I went to the retailer, but alas it was after the return date policy. I then contacted the manufacturer and was forced to pay a ridiculous amount for the cable, after a long back and forth with the ignorant and quite rude e-mail support child. When we finally used it, it went thru batteries like crazy, and the LCD is hard to see outdoors. At the time, i thought it was a good deal, but i guess you get what you pay for. I'll never buy from this manufacturer again.

It's Okay
by passionlei ,Jan 17 '05
Pros: Price, size, weight
Cons: Capacity
My friend's nine year old daughter received this mp3 player for Christmas and I was the one who hooked it up the computer and basically made it "go". For $50, I would hope it could hold more than 30 mp3s/60 wma files. It's very lightweight but it looks like it could be snapped in two without much effort. This is a good mp3 player for a kid to have.

Very Good MP3 Player
by oldmanbill ,Jan 31 '04
Pros: Very good player for The Money
Cons: No Light on The LCD Display, Heavy bass sounds causes voice to break up.
I got this for Christmas and love it, plays only MP3's, but it does it well.
Has 128mb of memory, enough for all the music I want to listen to. It also does record voice very well, up to 8 hours if you have the full 128mb card free, but I leave about 30mb free so I can record about two hours of voice if I need to.
Just don't try to record voice while you are in a truck or with any heavy bass sounds around you, it will overload the recorder and make the voice will break up, this is because the player/recorder picks up the very lowest frequencies too good.
Does very good on the MP3's and is drop and drag, very easy to use and put music into.
Lasts long on one AA battery.
Like this little player.

Great for the money!
by nealio42 ,Sep 11 '04
Pros: Small, Lite, Backliight, Ease of use, storage, Battery life, Feels durable.
Cons: Doesn't get loud enough over the lawn mower, but I don't want to go deaf!
This little MP3 player gives you bang for the buck. It's extremely easy to use. The built in memory and expandable memory show up as seperate drives on your computer and all you have to do is drag and drop. No adware like music match needed. You can download a free MP3 ripper off the net and transfer all your CD's to MP3 and on to this player with no hassle. If you like to use Windows Media Player it will play your WMA files as well.
