Pros: Lightweight and nice headphone buds. Cons: Cannot specify song order, some tracks get transferred, but don't play.
I do not have very demanding needs for a portable MP3 player. The only time I am in a position to need something like this is the 40 minutes a day I am at the gym. For this basic need, the Creative Rhomba is perfectly acceptable. There are some ...
Pros: Small, cheap, easy to use. Good sound and many features. Cons: Firmware is terrible, the player stops functioning properly.
I've had the Rhomba player (MX200 in Australia) for about 4 months and thought it was the greatest thing ever. It outputs great sound; it’s easy to use, and inexpensive. It's small enough to slip into your pocket and is nicely designed but ...
Rhomba is a decent flash mp3 player by davidavid237 ,Oct 20 '04
Pros: Small and light, good capacity, doesn't eat batteries, reliable Cons: Requires proprietary cable to charge, poor initial firmware
I was given the 256mb Rhomba as a gift. Like other reviewers I had some issues with my unit at first.
It wouldn't save FM presets, for instance. I contacted Creative Customer Service through their website, and although I have no proof of purchase they responded to my problem within 24 hours via email. Their suggestion was to download the current firmware update from the website.
I carefully followed the instructions for downloading and installing the new firmware, and these processes went flawlessly.
With its new firmware, my Rhomba has been working excellently - with nearly daily use - for several months.
I am a runner, and I usually jog holding the unit in one hand. It's light enough that I tend to hardly even remember I'm holding it, and all the controls are easily accessible in my hand.
I would definitely recommend this product, and I'm apt to purchase from Creative again.
Pros: Can control bass and treble. Playlist option. Voice recording option. Cons: Bad radio reception. Constantly have to format. Bad firmware.
Do not buy this product it is very bad. Has to constantly reformat inorder to work. About every other month u have to reformat and reenter all your songs on there.Radio reception is very poor.
Pros: portable Cons: breaks easily, short warranty, manufactured to be "unrepairable," according to the company.
Warning to anyone considering buying this unit! I bought one in January, 2004, and by June a small plastic operating button on the unit had broken. The product had only a 90-day warranty, so clearly a free fix wasn't going to happen. However, I was appalled to hear the customer service rep telling me the unit is not considered repairable because of the way it is manufactured, and I was simply out the money spent for an expensive electronic device, with no options, after six months of use. Don't buy from this company.
Don't buy this Product !!!! by shishonit ,May 24 '04
Pros: Good sound Cons: Poor radio reception bad firmware (I wonder who wrote it)
I read the reviews on the Internet the same way you are reading now. When I went to the store I have been misled by the salesman. He told me that the creative is a great brand and no one returned the product so far. He told me " if it was a bad product creative would have taken it of the shelf by now". I bought the product and it stop working after TWO DAYS" not responding at all. I talked to the customer support and they ask me to send the product to them. It takes along..... time to get it back believe me I havent got the mine yet.
