Pros: Defrost option and reheat option; Cool sides Cons: Tends to over- brown; Shallow crumb tray
Toasters are one of a handful of small appliances found in most every kitchen and this is due to two important reasons: The simple necessity of an appliance like this and the relative low price compared to other small appliances. Most toasters are ...
Pros: Easy to use & clean. Some useful special features. Cons: Cancel button not much use.
The Cuisinart CPT-120 is by far the best toaster I've ever owned. Features The CRT-120 has two bread slots. Both are extra wide to accommodate bagels and other thick slices. The carriage control lever, which lifts the ...
Pros: Easy to understand controls, only needs one press to toast, defrost feature Cons: bagel feature does not live up to hopes, no better than toaster oven
Background: Like many of the home and garden items I write about, the Cuisinart Cast Metal 2-slice toaster came into my life as a wedding gift. I did not register for this item, as we already have a toaster oven, but we decided to keep it because ...
Pros: Unless you overpaid for it, it's not substantially worse than a thrift store toaster. Cons: Takes two cycles to actually toast anything. The "Easy-to-Use LED Controls" are 100% bogus.
First I have to mention how I got this toaster because I feel like Amazon.com perpetrated something of a scam in this case. I wanted a blender and I picked one out on Amazon. Then there was some special deal that Amazon alerted me to where I could get ...
Pros: Easy-to-adjust browning; small footprint; (mostly) cool exterior Cons: Bagel and defrost modes seem more gimmicky than useful
This review continues the saga of my search for the perfect piece of toast. In my recent review of the Black & Decker TRO390 toaster oven I said that I wanted a versatile, reasonably priced appliance that wouldnt hog space in my kitchen. The ...
Pros: Cool Touch, Good Browning, Clear Controls, High-Rise Carriage Cons: Slides across table when changing settings, no one side browning option, crumb tray in rear.
Straight up, my requirements for a toaster start with cool touch exterior, clear, easy to change controls and toast eject features. I am a bagel eater. That said, when I went to buy a toaster, I started at about $20 and worked my way up to over $70 ...
Toaster wanted, not burner by caiogirl ,May 18 '08
Pros: small footprint, compact, easy to use, white with white cord Cons: burned food
I bought this 2 slice toaster because it had all the qualifications I list as pros, and to replace a Cuisinart 4 slice toaster..kids are gone and smaller toaster is fine. BUT the toaster, at the lowest setting possible, burned everything...bread and Thomas' thin corn muffins This did not seem safe to me so I called Cuisinart in case they had a recall. They said no but have returned it, and got another. This second toaster is still making very dark toast on the lowest setting and I am likely to return it as well...I do not want to be "babysitting" a toaster!
This Cuisinart Toaster DOES burn fingers by rocky69 ,Aug 14 '06
Pros: Does a decent job toasting, has ample capacity. Cons: Proximity of toast extraction knob to hot top surface is a serious safety issue.
My wife and I must vigorously disagree with a previous review. In fact, we have both sustained serious finger burns operating this appliance. The problem is that the metal top of the toaster gets very, very hot during operation, and the toast elevator knob/lever is very close to this metal. Thus we found that our fingers came in contact with the metal top at the end of toasting when we attempted to raise the toast to extract it. We've written to the company to alert them to this problem, but thus far have received no reply.
More expensive doesn't mean better! by myviewonthis ,Jun 20 '09
Pros: Attractive design. Has a fast cycle. Lift handle is good. Cons: One side of bread is always darker than the other.
After expensive kitchen remodel, I chose the Cuisinart Toaster to coordinate with my new appliances. One side of the bread is always darker than the other. When adjusting the darkened burned side to normal, then the other side is not toasted sufficiently. Returned to store and tried another toaster with same result!! I've never had this problem of uneven toasting with toasters costing between $7.99 and $12.00. Really disappointed that I cannot enjoy a properly toasted piece of bread!!
