  • Cuisinart CPT-120 Toaster Works, but Watch Those Settings!

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Sep 14, 2009
Pros: Defrost option and reheat option; Cool sides
Cons: Tends to over- brown; Shallow crumb tray

Summary: Toasters are one of a handful of small appliances found in most every kitchen and this is due to two important reasons: The simple necessity of an appliance like this and the relative low price compared to other small appliances. Most toasters are ... read more

  • Cuisinart CPT-120 2-Slice Toaster

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Mar 6, 2011
Pros: It is easy to clean and use. Also not too expensive.
Cons: The crumb tray is in the back.

Summary: This toaster is an awesome buy. It is very easy to use. When leaving for college last fall, I realized I needed a toaster for my room. I chose the Cuisinart CPT-120 Two Slice Toaster because of its size and how well known the brand is. It made it ... read more

  • Lousy Toaster

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jan 13, 2011
    Pros: Exterior easy to clean
    Inexpensive
    Cons: Wildly inconsistent toasting
One slot seems to toast only one side

Summary: This toaster Cuisinart CPT-120 wasn't worth the $20 I paid for it. It toasts extremely unevenly - in one of the slots, I have to pop up the bread and rotate it partway through, otherwise one side of the bread chars and the other side is just lightly ... read more

  • Just make sure you pay generic money for this generic toaster.

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Sep 20, 2008
Pros: Unless you overpaid for it, it's not substantially worse than a thrift store toaster.
Cons: Takes two cycles to actually toast anything. The "Easy-to-Use LED Controls" are 100% bogus.

Summary: First I have to mention how I got this toaster because I feel like Amazon.com perpetrated something of a scam in this case. I wanted a blender and I picked one out on Amazon. Then there was some special deal that Amazon alerted me to where I could get ... read more

  • A Toast to the Cuisinart CPT-120 Toaster!

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Mar 2, 2007
Pros: Easy to use & clean. Some useful special features.
Cons: Cancel button not much use.

Summary: The Cuisinart CPT-120 is by far the best toaster I've ever owned. Features The CRT-120 has two bread slots. Both are extra wide to accommodate bagels and other thick slices. The carriage control lever, which lifts the ... read more

  • Toast of the Town

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jan 2, 2007
Pros: Easy to understand controls, only needs one press to toast, defrost feature
Cons: bagel feature does not live up to hopes, no better than toaster oven

Summary: Background: Like many of the home and garden items I write about, the Cuisinart Cast Metal 2-slice toaster came into my life as a wedding gift. I did not register for this item, as we already have a toaster oven, but we decided to keep it because ... read more

  • Good toast comes in a small package (at last)

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Aug 16, 2006
Pros: Easy-to-adjust browning; small footprint; (mostly) cool exterior
Cons: Bagel and defrost modes seem more gimmicky than useful

Summary: This review continues the saga of my search for the perfect piece of toast. In my recent review of the Black & Decker TRO390 toaster oven I said that I wanted a versatile, reasonably priced appliance that wouldn’t hog space in my kitchen. The ... read more

  • Cool touch, Clear settings, High-Rise Carriage

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Sep 23, 2004
Pros: Cool Touch, Good Browning, Clear Controls, High-Rise Carriage
Cons: Slides across table when changing settings, no one side browning option, crumb tray in rear.

Summary: Straight up, my requirements for a toaster start with cool touch exterior, clear, easy to change controls and toast eject features. I am a bagel eater. That said, when I went to buy a toaster, I started at about $20 and worked my way up to over $70 ... read more

    Pros: Ease of use
Cons: The lowest settings burn the product. Watch your bread carefully.

Summary: This toaster is very easy to use, but the problem is that it toasts much too darkly, even when set on '1' which is the lowest setting. If you don't watch it while toasting, it will burn bagels and bread. My son sets it on 2 for frozen waffles. I can't

  • Does its job very well

    Pros: cool sides
    accurate and even browning
    very fast toasting
    good price
    Cons: none

Summary: I bought this toaster factory refurbished for about $25.  It has worked flawlessly for the last year.  Toast is evenly browned.  It toasts faster than any other toaster I have had in past.  I would definately buy another when this one

  • Can't do "Lightly Toasted"

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    Dec 10, 2009
Pros: Inexpensive, relatively attractive for a basic toaster
Cons: Toast is too dark, even at lightest setting.

Summary: Just needed a basic toaster, found this on sale, and had a coupon - net cost:  $15. Unfortunately, it only toasted that well.  Even setting the dial to level '1' yielded very dry, fairly dark toast.  Edible, but not by

  • More expensive doesn't mean better!

Pros: Attractive design. Has a fast cycle. Lift handle is good.
Cons: One side of bread is always darker than the other.

Summary: After expensive kitchen remodel, I chose the Cuisinart Toaster to coordinate with my new appliances. One side of the bread is alwaysdarker than the other.  When adjusting the darkened burned side to normal, then the other side is not toasted

  • Toaster wanted, not burner

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    May 18, 2008
Pros: small footprint, compact, easy to use, white with white cord
    Cons: burned food

Summary: I bought this 2 slice toaster because it had all the qualifications I list as pros, and to replace a Cuisinart 4 slice toaster..kids are gone and smaller toaster is fine. BUT the toaster, at the lowest setting possible, burned everything...bread and

  • This Cuisinart Toaster DOES burn fingers

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    Aug 14, 2006
Pros: Does a decent job toasting, has ample capacity.
Cons: Proximity of toast extraction knob to hot top surface is a serious safety issue.

Summary: My wife and I must vigorously disagree with a previous review. In fact, we have both sustained serious finger burns operating this appliance. The problem is that the metal top of the toaster gets very, very hot during operation, and the toast elevator
