Pros: The promise of 6 waffles. Seemed to cook evenly. Cons: Too expensive, incomplete waffles, and a big, oozy mess.
Our old waffle maker must be 40 years old - works fine, nothing snazzy - just your run of the mill 4 waffle waffle-maker. But our family has grown and 4 waffles is 1 waffle short of a full house. So the 6 waffle maker had a purpose, even if rather ...

Pros: Looks good before you use it. Cons: VERY difficult to clean, and clean you must, as batter oozes everywhere!
I wish I had read the numerous reviews on this item before buying one. They were all right on target. I bought this model primarily because it supposedly makes six waffles, more than any other model I found. The directions say to use 2 ...

Quick in cooking; long time in cleaning
by tulman ,Oct 22 '06
Pros: Worked well the first year. Cons: Impossible to clean after using;it drips down the front all over the temp nob.
I have used this for two years as it was the only one I could find that makes six waffles. The first year it made 6 perfect waffles (albeit, I agree with the previous reviewer that it does leak down the front and sometimes one side no matter how much batter you use) but as the years went on, the cleaning got much more laborious and the size of the waffles were irregular. This morning I noticed that the waffles were splitting apart and after the signal went off
and the top raised, the waffles were in half and I had to peel off the cooked waffle from the top. :-( I then noticed the red AND green light were on at the same time! The warranty was still good as it gives you 3 years from the manufacturer, but the weight of the machine alone will cost a small fortune to ship back to manufacturer plus the $20 you have to mail them to resend the repaired or new machine back. I think I will try and find a new 6 waffle iron with removable grates!

Save your money!
by soeurfraise ,Oct 09 '07
Pros: Cuisinart has good quality appliances but this one has flaws that weren't evident until used. Cons: Uneven browning, oozing down the sides and control knob, too much clean up.
Wow! What a disappointment! I bought this because I have several other Cuisinart products and love them. This, however, is a DUD! It's uneven cooking and oozing over the front knobs is such a headache that even though we have a love of waffles, we don't have them unless my kids promise a revolt. The clean-up takes way too long for my family of 6. I wish I would have read reviews before I bought it. I wouldn't have wasted my $80.00...I still love OTHER Cuisinart products, though...

Garbage- read before you buy
by tweedledeuk ,Dec 27 '06
Pros: Makes 6 waffles Cons: Everything else
This waffle iron isn't worth the cost. It is pretty and that is it. It must have a central heat element and it over cooks the middle and under cooks the edges. It also is built with a metal handle that is not heat resistant. Every time you open the handle if you miss the plastic 2 inches you burn yourself.
Added to the burns from the metal that you attain it is engineered so that the steam comes up at the handle spot so you are constantly getting steam burns.
Do not buy

cuisinart waf-6 dangerous to use
by wafflebob ,Dec 27 '07
Pros: makes good waffles Cons: junk otherwise.
The handle is POORLY designed. It WILL burn your fingers if they touch the metal handle. the beast also will steam them fast. waffle batter oozes out all over no matter how careful you are to measure the amount being poured into it. the control knob is covered in cooked batter. makes good waffles if you want to spend 30 or more minutes cleaning the thing. most importantly is the burning of your fingers. the handle needs major changes... I bought it because I don't like Belgium waffles. I like the adjustable browning control and the idea of setting it up on end for storage purposes... again...I dislike the handle and the oozing out of batter.
