I have a Toshiba SD9200 DVD Player and it performs very well with my Hitachi Digital Ultra Vision big screen television. I thought I would try out the Onkyo DV-SP800 DVD player. This was a very disappointing try out. The picture quality was noisy and setup options are very short of the Toshiba SD9200. DVD-A's sound far better on the Toshiba SD9200. I cannot figure out why this unit has THX-Ultra stamped on it. I would not recommend this unit for the money.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous reviewer. Great unit. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it. Quality made. Granted, my previous player was a Toshiba SD4700 which I bought to experiment with the DVD-Audio capability. The Onkyo just leaves the Toshiba in the dust from a sound reproduction standpoint. It rivals just about any DVD player that I've seen.
