Sharp has been flooding these babies in the net nowadays, and one can get a portable DVD like this for around $450 to $550 (Egghead and Ebay)... I had the Aiwa Portable DVD (XD-DW1) prior to this, and although the Aiwa had better video screen...

I have this unit for more than one year. It costed me only $700. I really don't know why it become so expensive now. Everything works well. The only sad thing is my son dropped it last March and broke the screen. Now it still works well with video out to TV, though it is no more protable. One thing that I kind of worry about is the temperature. The temperature of the LCD panel is quiet high just five minutes after playing movie. It may be due to Sharp's design. I did tested other brand name's unit. It did not seem so high. Anyway, I will recommend this unit strongly.

I have had my L70 for around three years. I've taken it on family vacations both in the car and plane. Kids love it. I hook it up to three headsets and away we go. I have even dropped it a few times and it still keeps running great. Only down fall is the battery. I get a little better than one movie playing time and then the battery dies. I wish they made a car adapter. JZ
