Pros: Speed, attractive, easy setup, many configurations, reliable Cons: Price, bright LEDs can be annoying
After experiencing some issues with our wireless connection being slow at home, I decided to order a new router. We had the cable company take a look at our internet connection and re-wire everything, so I knew it wasn’t the cable company. My ...
Pros: Very stable - never has to be cycled Cons: SPI seems a bit touchy - might be my ISP though
Bought the D-Link DGL-4300 in June of 2005 and have used it in a home office environment since that time. I have run this router through it's paces and it's been a very solid performer. I run a network with 8 computers, 4 Gigabit D-Link switches, ...
Pros: Gigabit switch, excellent wireless connectivity at 108G, fairly robust steering of packets, and very stable. Cons: Gamefuel did not reduce lag significantly, poor parental control, OS9 incompatibility.
Summary: This is a very good entry-level router with some outstanding features, including a fairly robust (QoS) Quality of Service features. Setup was easy. Wireless features include WAP, Dlinks 2x 802.11g service (108Mbps), stateful packet ...
Pros: Fast, 4 gigabit ports, great range, DHCP reservations, nice logging options, QoS enhances VOIP/gaming! Cons: Super bright LED's, high price (but good value), slightly confusing web interface.
=== Overview === We bought the DLink DLG-4300 after our Internet connections began to fail a lot and our VOIP phone calls began to have a lot of drop outs. We thought it was the cable company but it turned out that they are only responsible for about ...
Pros: Pretty blue lights, mountable, auto-tests upload speed. Cons: No wireless Appletalk, poor security, a ripoff price.
I have yet to find a review of the DGL-4300 by anybody who seemed to have any experience to compare it to and did some full actual testing. So I bought one. It works as advertised, but the Gamerfuel advantage will be unrealized by most people. You can ...
Pros: stable, good mixture of novice control panel, and advanced features. Cons: game fuel, it is a terrible nuisance.
Ive only had this router for a few hours, so this is subject to change. anyways, ive gone through about 5 horrible routers in the past 2 years. some were hand me downs, some just sucked. after my brother destroyed the last one (which sucked btw) i ...
Pros: Gigabit Ethernet, 108Mbps w/D-Link adapter, great wireless range, b/g/108Mbps simultaneously w/ bios upgrade. Cons: May be slightly complicated to configure for beginners, but not very.
I upgraded from a Netgear WGT624 108Mbps router to the D-Link DGL-4300 and boy, what a difference! The signal that was weak and always dropping upstairs through several foot-thick stone walls is now solid and fast. Gigabit local network is so fast I ...
Pros: Fast. Easy. Pretty. Much better than my old WRT54G Cons: Expensive. Stupid Self Tests every time I access the control panel.
I bought this Router after I killed 2 other ones with my P2P traffic. The Price seemed intimidating at first but after reading an article on Tom's Hardware placing it as the second fastest Super-G router on the market, I didnt mind. This thing does not disappoint. The change from my Linksys WRT54G was obvious. Much faster bandwidth across my LAN as well as Wan to Lan thoroughput. Plus my Bit Torrent DL's dont crash anymore.
good router, highly recommend by audiomax2001 ,Dec 26 '05
Pros: good, rugged router that can handle heavy downloading Cons: some may find the gamefuel prioritizing irritating
i purchased my dlink 4300 router after going through a few others. my linksys befsr41 always dropped my connection and required a unplug/plug once a day. the netgear router i bought also dropped my dsl connection and never really worked well from the start. im done with buying cheap routers and expecting world class performance.
my dlink 4300 router can handle anything i throw at it without dropping my dsl service. i do not have to worry about downloading large trailers for upcoming movies out of fear that i will lose my internet access. since i use lan cables and not wireless, i cannot comment on how well the wireless feature works.
this router does prioritize bandwidth with gamefuel activated. ive noticed when having a video conference over msn messenger my other downloads will slow down considerably. if this is bothersome gamefuel can simply be shutoff on the router setup page.

Pros: Nice range, lots of user configurations for it (if you can figure them all out) Cons: Could use some more indepth instructions on how to use each individual setting
Been using this for a few months now, it's still confusing on how exactly to make the router turn itself on and off. I wanted to be able to filter websites but it's a pain to do them all one at a time as far as restriction is concerned. Nobody can possibly restrict the hundreds of thousands of prono sites out there. There has to be an easier way and it's definately not with the trial software that dlink offers (sentinel). I try to download it from the dlink links and it doesn't work. Does this software even exist? Over all I'm happy with the speed and ease of the router itself, I use VoIP, xbox live, Wi, and it's all good. Just not happy with not being able to filter porn and such from coming through. (without spending years of blocking individual sites)
Pros: Cool web user interface. Cons: Does NOT support 8-bit SSIDs (only 7-bit). Some text fields shorter than previous D-Link models
As of Feb 2007, it does NOT support 8 bit SSIDs. For example it does not like the "ñ" in the SSID. I have had other products in the past from D-Link that DID support it before. Why not this fancy model? It's a cool router, but I will not be able to use it's wireless because in my situation it needs to support 8 bit SSIDs. After bouncing emails back and forth with D-Link about 10 times they finally told me this SSID limitation. When I had called their support whoever I talked to does not understand what I'm talking about. They keep thinking I'm talking about the encryption.
7bit ASCII only on the SSID name.....how sad.
I'm completely unsatisfied because I can't use it the way I intended and D-Link support sucked. The phone support was horrible. The tech gets confused with what I'm talking about.
