Pros: Price to gigabyte ratio ($185/15GB), player size, battery-life Cons: Headphones, Limited, Musicmatch (which I normally like)
In order to stave off loneliness on a month-long solo trip to Europe (my first), I decided that it would be a good idea to get myself an MP3 player so as to inject some "home-cooking" on those occasions where I felt homesick, lonely, or found myself on ...

Pros: Endless possiblities, Music Capacity is better than most competitors, Options, etc. Cons: Taking the time to load songs -My problem!
I purchased my 20 GB Dell DJ with little knowledge of these MP3 Juke Boxes at all. Good thing I made the right choice. I am an avid music lover and a party throwin chick to say the least. There are so many MP3 players out there that it is virtually ...

Pros: Excellent audio quality.
Very solid hardware.
Easy, intuitive interface. Cons: Does not come with carrying case.
Earbuds included are not very good.
Firmware needs improvement.
I work for a recording company and do know a little about audio. My opinion is that the sound is fantastic. Furthermore, the unit itself is made very well - solid. I shook the device very hard during playback and experienced no skips. All in all the ...

Pros: Excellent Battery Life, Solid, Good Sound Quality, Nice Backlight, Cool IMO Cons: Earbuds are lacking..., Shuffle/Random play problems, Musicmatch not the best software
If you're like me, every time you get a new toy, the ritual is as follows: 1: Plug in and let charge 2: Wait.... 3: Wait.... Well, I ordered the 15GB Dell DJ and a Belkin Tunecast II FM Transmitter from Dell and received the DJ 2 days later(thats ...

Pros: Size, battery life, works with windows, great storage capacity Cons: none, well not as sexy as a iPod.
I wanted an iPod. I bought an ipod. The ipod is great looking--much better looking than the DJ, however, the iPod does not work with the Windows OS--at least very well. I could literally never get the ipod to work with my XP Pro based laptop. The Dell ...

Pros: Better sound than ipod, blue backlight, quality at low cost Cons: Heavier and bigger than ipod, scroll wheel not best design, musicmatch software could be better
I can only compare this with the ipod, which I purchased and promptly returned a few days later. I've come to trust Dell since I love my laptop which I bought a few years ago. This mp3 player is no exception. After having it for about a week, I'm ...

Pros: Lots of space for little $, VERY sharp looking, good sound quality Cons: Earbuds uncomfortable, accessories are expensive.
I just got my 15GB DJ yesterday and I'm in love with it! I ordered it two days ago and UPS delivered it in no time! It is much sharper looking than the picture on the Dell webpage. It is comprised of a matte silver shell, which looks great and ...

Pros: Long battery life, backlit display, lighted buttons Cons: Cannot play all songs without creating separate playlist
Dell has done a fine job with this entry into the consumer electronics market. Roughly the size of a pack of cigarettes, the Dell DJ feels very solid. The backlit display and backlit buttons provide an attractive and easy-to-use interface. The menus ...

Ok MP3 player
by sfgfan10 ,Aug 21 '05
Pros: Buttons easy to use, has voice recorder, great battery life Cons: song organization awkward at best, can't transfer recorded sounds to computer.
Overall, just okay. I own one, but I wish that it could be better. First of all, although it has a voice recorder, the sounds you record can't be transferred to a computer, and the way that it organizes songs is awkward at best. However, the battery life is great, and the buttons are easy to use.

Unreliable
by gordjohn ,Mar 05 '05
Pros: Cheap, easy interface, good sound Cons: Unreliable, Musicmatch
Dell has great customer service, which is fortunate, since I went through 3 of these. The biggest issues are system crashes, which happen an average of twice every 30 minutes. Now that my warranty is done, I'm off to buy something that's more reliable.

So Far So Good
by ekrl ,Nov 08 '04
Pros: Big 15 gig hard drive. Nice closeout price on Dell.com
Great battery life Cons: Heavy, No carry case, Hard to figure out how to transfer song to playlist
Overall a very good MP3 player. Nice amount of storage for the hundreds of song I have. Somewhat hard to figure out how to transfer a song already loaded to playlist.
I already had MusicMatch so I was very at ease using this product.
I got this on a closeout deal off dell.com. I think it was a steal considering about 6 months ago I bought a Creative Lab Nomad 256mb for $30 less.

Above all Expectations
by kawarider ,Sep 20 '04
Pros: Price, ease of use, backlight looks cool at night. Cons: Musicmatch can be kind of a pain in the rear, some useless options
From the time I opened this as a christmas gift it exceeded all of my expectations. It was very easy to use and the battery usually lasts me about 16 hours. I got this with the car adaptor, belkin case, and casette adaptor. I really only use the belkin case and the rest of them I don't use at all. The dell even with the options was less than an iPod with basic options and i being as polish as I am I enjoyed this a lot. In five minutes I figured out how to work this on my own with out reading any of the instruction manuals. Musicmatch is kind of an annoyance but the player masks any annoyance that musicmatch brings. Although $200 seems like a lot of money it is all worth it.
