Pros: I actually like the USB ports in the front because they're easy to access. Cons: I really do not see anything wrong with this computer. I love it.
I have this computer and I never had any major problems with it. There were about two times when I had a problem with it and I didn't have to call tech support or anything, the computer fixed the problem itself. I bought this product because I needed a computer to do my schoolwork on and I heard that Dell was a very good company and with my experiance with this computer it lived up to that. I love the fact that I never got any problems with this product. I've had mine for three years and it still works fine.
Pros: If youre looking for a great personal use computer, this is it... Cons: Only room for extra slots. USB ports in the front are a tad bit annoying.
Booting up the computer, its amazing, seconds and the computer is up and running. I just bought this from a friend for $600, pretty cheap for a computer as powerful as this. I strongly reccomend this computer for anyone looking for it. Though it does seem that i have looked for this on dells website (www.dell.com) and i did not find you can still buy it. Though they dont make them anymore, they are still great computers. Buying another dell PC is like downgrading from this, they stopped making these computers because they were a great deal.
I bought it for personal use. But in the past i wanted a computer to use for Programming, listening to music, and playing games. It used to be that i could only do one at a time with any other computer. Now i can do all three at the same time.
Performance: It runs pretty quiet, which is a plus considering it sits in my room turned on all night. I run 2.52 GHz and 768 MB of RAM, Windows XP seems to run well on it and it seems that it doesnt crash. Practically never.
Pros: Exceptional reliability, has never crashed, and Windows XP is a stable OS. Cons: The USB connections in front are a pain to use difficult to access.
I purchased this computer from Dell after doing some serious upgrading from the standard configuration in memory.
It came (as is expected) with a lot of Dell installed software, which in my case proved to be of no value since what they provide in some instances is trial versions which require activation later, so for a fee, like Music Jukebox.
I specified a Pentium 4 high speed processor and 512 memory because I do a lot of digital photo editing and also installed Microsoft office to do work at home, like spreadsheets, and documents with Word and Excel.
It also came with a floppy drive, a CD-Rom and a free upgrade of an additional bay, which I filled with a CD-RW drive, although now I think they offer may also include a CDRW-DVD ROM combo drive.
Pros: Boots in under 20 seconds, quiet Cons: Flimsy case
I bought this computer for myself about 6 months ago and have been very happy. It boots in under 20 seconds. The first time I turned it on by the time the monitor came up the computer was already loading the desktop. Since then, it hasn't slowed down. Most other computers I have ever owned have slowed down after a few months no matter what I do.
