by ronc27 , Oct 24 '03
Pros: Price and ease of use.
Cons: Sensitive touch pad.
I was in the market for a laptop to take with me on trips. I wanted one for mainly entertainment purposes mostly and a little word processing on the side. I didn't have a lot of money so I shopped around and Dell.com had the best prices. I also f ...

If you gave this five stars, you probably work for dell
by ogabott ,Sep 12 '06
Pros: warranty. nice colors.
Cons: there is a 15 word min., and therefore not enough room for my complaints here.
this computer is heavy. it is not particulary fast, tho not terribly slow. i have a desktop to use at home, and i wish the dell worked half as good. really i do. the laptop overheats. the programs werent great, mainly because there is no microsoft office which i use often. the programs included were kinda useless. its screen is not fantastic, nor is the speaker system. in fact, even when plugging in headphones, it isnt loud enough for me. the external floppy drive i bought doesnt work anymore.

im shocked that the four previous reviews were flawless. i cant believe it.

Love this laptop!
by ray_tara ,Feb 16 '04
Pros: Low price, high quality.
Cons: Limited expandability (as with all laptops).
I just got my Dell Inspiron 1100 in last week and I've hardly used my old desktop since. I bought it from Dell's Outlet, so this one is a refurbished model. That is just fine with me, since Dell's refurbished models are completely tested and have the same 1 year warranty as new models. Plus I saved a bunch of money. I got it for $583 + $45 shipping. It came with a 2 gigahertz Intel Celeron, 40 GB hard drive, DVD player, 12 cell battery, 14 inch LCD, and 128 MB RAM. I bought another 256 MB RAM SODIMM for $50, which really improves performance. The screen is clear and the keyboard is crisp. The touch pad is a bit sensitive at first, but is adjustable in Control Panel and you get better with practice. I also added a wireless PC Card for $50 so I can surf freely around the house. I am no longer tied to my desktop in the corner and love the freedom. I highly recommend!

Inspiron 1100
by pyro-licious ,May 04 '04
Pros: easy, fast, reliable, professional, sturdy
Cons: none
I find that this is and all around great computer. It is powerful fast, and sturdy. It is fast, reliable, and perfect for my needs. Whether you need it for a small business, large business, or for home use, the Dell Inspiron 1100 is fast, affordable, reliable, and perfect. One thing I really like about this laptop is how light weight it is. It is also very small, and will fit into most laptop carrying cases, which is nice if you travel a lot, or if you just need to take it place to place. It looks very nice and professional, so even if you are still learning to use a computer, you can still look like you know what your doing. It's very easy to use, and there is even a guide to take you through the laptop.

uh...Woopee?
by garfield135 ,Apr 30 '06
Pros: GOOD: Screen,Weight,Thickness, and good basic computer.
Cons: A little too basic for some.
This is a good basic level laptop. It has no CDRW or DVDRW which excludes home videos. It has a pretty nice screen and its not too heavy or thick. I give it a strong 7 out of 10.
