Pros: terrific features for the price and weight, fast, gorgeous screen, works like a champ Cons: unimpressive audio chip, have to reinstall OS to get rid of junk software
Based on my experience with the 600m, I recommend it unconditionally. I bought a fairly loaded version, for a hair under $1800. 1.6 GHz Pentium M 512 MB RAM 14" SXGA+ screen (1400x1050) 64 MB Radeon 9000 video 60 GB HDD Dell TrueMobile 1300 ...
Pros: Great price; lightweight; Pentium-M has a lot of power; Built-in Wireless Cons: Could be more rugged; Standard-issue computer
In preparing for business school, I needed to purchase a new laptop. Since I have a small business discount from Dell, I naturally looked to them first. I was deciding between a number of models and settled on the Inspiron 600m. This model was (a) ...
Pros: Size, battery life, screen, price Cons: The speakers, some construction aspects
First a little background. Though we have had many desktop computers over the years and I have built all our pcs for the past 10 years or so, this is only our second laptop. The first, a HP ze1110, was purchased for my wife who at the time was bedr ...
Pros: Lightweight, portable, internal wireless, clear display, battery life Cons: No internal floppy, Not terribly fast, limited resolution
My last laptop was most deffinetly the worst laptop I could have chosen for my perticular situation. I have to bring my laptop to school everyday. That is why the Dell 8000 was deffinetly not for me. So when that laptop finally wasnt fast enough to run th ...

Pros: great screen, size, battery life, weight Cons: long wait time for Dell support, heat after long on time
I have recently ordered a Inspiron 600m notebook before Memorial Day Weekend and received it on Wednesday after the three day weekend (I ordered the free 3-5day shipping but I guess they were way ahead of schedule, this is the original plan, 2 days for ...
Pros: FAST Pentium M Dothan CPU and ATI 9000 video, 5400RPM HD, super-quiet fan, SXGA screen Cons: Runs VERY hot (90 F palm rest), cheezy plastics, flexy lid, ~3hr so-so battery life
First reaction: Sleek and fast. Performance ----------- The Pentium M 725 (Dothan) 1.6 GHz CPU with 2MB of L2 cache means BLAZING SPEED on business applications. The Dothan CPU beats a 3GHz Pentium 4 in some benchmarks. Paired with a super-quiet ...
Pros: Good deal, great price, does it's job. Cons: Microsoft's OS flaws.
As a Mac user, I don't normally get into the PC world. When I was laid off two years ago, I decided that part of getting a new job would be accepting the PC's out there - and that meant learning to deal with them. I shopped around for a decent computer, ...
Pros: Good performance, decent portability, good price point Cons: Touchpad kind of sucks
I bought my 600M in mid July 2003, after intensive surfing on the subject. I opted for the low-end 1.3GHz model with 256 megs of RAM, 30-gig hard drive, a/b/g wi-fi, CDWR/DVD, and regular VGA, rather than the hi-rez video. Also added an extra modular ba ...
Pros: Notebook construction and durability good. Ordering, shipping, and set up of laptop was good. Cons: Customer service was horrible, lacked knowledge, inconsistent, and problem was not solved!
This review covers my experience, with hardware followed by customer service. This is of course, my experience... not necessarily that of everyone. The notebook itself, so far, is good. I have worked on Mac and PC desktops, and have yet to notice ...
Pros: Battery runtime, build quality, speed, overall performance, weight. Cons: Touchpad, wireless nic driver availability, common accessories optional.

Pros: Weight is great. compact Cons: the Tech Support service the worst,it overheats, mark from the space-bar on the screen
I bought this 600m Dell. full loaded.. I do like the compactness, and the light weight, but it has too many flaws. and not really worth the $ 2400 I paid. I bought it because i travel alot.. first, the computer gets very, very hot. When closed and ...
Pros: Quick shipping, highly portable, very efficient. A pleasure to use Cons: Can get a little warm if you are holding it on your lap
I first started looking at Dell laptops in February. Having never owned a laptop before, I automatically gravitated toward the lower priced Inspiron 1100/1150. i began comparing computers on the Dell website, and quickly came to the conclusion that the ...
Pros: Great performance, reasonabily priced
Built-in wireless card Cons: Dell loads a lot of Junk software.
I just brought this machine a month ago. Its been great so far. The configuration was: 1.4Ghz PM, 512MB RAM, 14" display. CD-RW
The main highlights will be:
- Very slim (just 1.2" thk)
- Very clear display
- System is really fast (for most application)
- I don't recommend this machine for CAD or other
Engineering tasks.
- Huge improvement in the keyboard quality compared to my
earlier Inspiron.
- Overall finish of the system is excellent.
- CD tray was not closing fully in my machine
- Great value for money (Best laptop you can find for this
money - $1299)
Pros: Lightweight and good battery life. Cons: Overheats, locks up regularly, will not power up.
At first, I too thought I had found a reliable, well performing laptop that was lightweight and performed well. But alas, after just 12 months of use (and now out of warranty), this machine has begun to lockup, overheat and occasionally fails to power up. Search 600m and overheating on the web and you will see. Beware before you buy!
