Pros: Slim Profile, lightweight, durable case Cons: Poor sound, not bluetooth or wireless ready (without network card)
I bought this laptop off of my brother when he bought a new Macbook, the lightweight design and slim profile of this computer are definite high points, however the lowpoints bring it down. The CD/DVD/Floppy drive need to be plugged in seperately to ...
Pros: Small size, light weight. Cons: Clumsy cabled media drives, USB port problems. Tiny keyboard.
The Dell Latitude C400 was my first venture into a laptop computer to use around the house, mainly for web surfing. I bought it new (refurbished) in July of 2002. While I have not had any problems with it (other than with some USB problems which I will ...
When I started law school we were required to purchase a laptop, and the school program offered Dells--given 2 options, I chose the C400 due to its size. While I have no basis for comparison, I would NOT recommend this laptop, unless you have an ...
Pros: Small size Cons: Touchpad scroll doesn't work; excess heat will slowly cook internal parts.
Perfect sized notebook PC for surfing the net in front of the TV set. While watching the NBA Finals - Need Wilt's total points scored? How about who played the 'Bad', in "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"? Easily and quickly access nba.com and imdb.com to answer these two questions. An absolute perfect companion to TIVO, so you'll never have to wonder who that certain co-star was in that episode of MASH, or who the voice was in that episode of the Simpsons. (You'll need a wireless internet system of course). The downside is this baby pumps out some serious heat; it's great in the winter time, but uncomfortable in the summer. The excess heat shortens the life of the unit. Also, not good for us males who prolongedly rest it on our laps. As far as the CD and floppy drives, I access these disks through my desktop PCs, so this not an issue for me. Dell's Tech Support is second to none.
Pros: Ultraslim design allows for easy travel; Mobile P3 processor for longer battery time; Cons: Ultraslim design requires cable connect of cd-rom and floppy drive; Small keyboard makes errors inevitable
The Dell Latitude C400 PC Notebook is pretty good all around. The ultraslim design makes it easy to carry around without taking up too much space. The P3 processor seems to process commands fairly quickly while running Windows XP. The only downfall to this Notebook is that you have to connect your cd-rom and floppy drive with a cord which makes things a little less convenient.
Pros: Good battery life, lightweight. Cons: Lousy display, lousy touchpad, external drives, 1.1 USB. Not worth the money.
I've used a laptops for more than seven years. This was furnished by my employer and I hate it.
External floppy and CD drives are a nuisance. The display is not as clear as my 7-year-old Gateway. The touchpad won't scroll automatically if you hold your finger on it, you have to continue to tap it. Double clicking the touchpad is difficult, as there is no adjustment on how hard you tap it. Tap too hard and it doesn't respond. The three-prong power adapter is very difficult to unplug from a wall. USB 1.1 is unacceptable for a laptop purchased new in January, 2004. BIOS configuration prevents me from being able to use certain keyboard shortcuts, very annoying.
