Dell UltraSharp 1901FP 19 inch LCD Monitor

Pros: Best value for your money. Packed full of features. This monitor is great!!!
Cons: For the price, the value can't be beat.

I've been looking for a 19" LCD for a while now, and having worked for a major monitor company before, I know a good deal when I saw one. Got the 1901FP comboed with the AS500 sound bar for $547 w/ free shipping. For some reason, the 1901FP by itself ...

Pros: DVI, rotating panel, USB port, bargain price, oh... size
Cons: Can't lower to table, greenish tint, difficult to change brightness, ghosting, not best colors

I will not be writing long description here. just a few words on experience with the device. Got it as replacement for my 3-and-change years old 17" viewsonic. Wow! 17" LCD considered to be too small for resolutions 1280x1024 so got this one... ...

Pros: Color, minimal footprint for the size, looks great on your desk
Cons: Black letters not as sharp as I'd like it to be

I replaced my old CRT with monitor and it is worth extra cost (versus a 17" or a CRT). It impresses my clients and I can conduct meetings in my office using this screen. The colors are bright and sharp. It is easy to adjust the hight and angle. The cords that accompany the monitor are long enough to move it a fair distance from the CPU. A great monitor for the price.

Pros: Base design is well done. Sturdy, easily adjustable.
Cons: Dell sales and support have plummeted. Horrible. Text on monitor is OK, not great.

The price is only good IF it rotates between portrait/landscape. (Better and less expensive 19" fixed monitors are available.) Unlike it's competitors, Dell does NOT offer S/W with the monitor to allow rotation. Pivot Pro worked poorly with this monitor and my graphics card (ghost images, poor text quality, compressed images, etc...). Research showed others have had similar compatibility problems with Pivot Pro.

In addition, Dell sales rep in India lied to get purchase and then provided inaccurate information to resolve my problem. Numerous phone calls (six to India, one to Philippines), constant rerouting of calls, disconnects, etc... accomplished nothing but a headache. Now after hours of loading and unloading S/W per Dell's instructions I'm returning it. I'm through with Dell. Unless you have a very recently updated graphics card DO NOT expect to be able to rotate the image with any amount of clarity.

Pros: Great detail, bright colors, awesome size, functional (USB ports ex)
Cons: Not the best gamer monitor (my crt was better at that)

I recieved this monitor today and loved the brightness and image quality. Really a big difference from my base model CRT monitor. However i was dissapointed when i played Madden 2004, because when the game is in motion (ex. throwing a long bomb) the game gets distorted. This i did not experience with my CRT. I then played Halo and did not see any problems. If you are a hard core gamer, you will be kind of dissapointed because i was. But if you are a normal internet browser this is a awesome monitor!

Pros: Adjustable stand
Cons: Everything else

This monitor worked great for us for about a day and a half. Actually, the second monitor (after the first was bad out of the box) was great for a day and a half. To compound our problems, Dell service and support are non-existent. My husband and I made approx. 25 calls in a three week period to get the first monitor replaced. After being hung-up on, lied to, having our new CPU ruined by Dell Support's hit and miss troubleshooting and generally given the run around we were sent the new monitor. The only problem- it wasn't new, but refurbished which we didn't order. We are now going to send back the whole system and pray to God we never have to deal with Dell again!!

Pros: The best picture quality you can find. Great price!
Cons: Can't be lowered as much as I want.

I bought this monitor after extensive research and after finding out that it is the same monitor as the high-end Samsung 19" with DVI input.

I got a great deal on E-bay and I was blown away by the quality of this monitor. I've had LCD monitors before, including a high-end NEC 15" and mid-range Sony 15". The Dell provides a perfect picture!

I can find only one fault with this monitor: the vertical adjustment does not allow me to lower it to where I'd like it to be. The lower edge is about 5 inches from the desk.

Pros: Good, clean picture, good color definition, USB ports, digital connection.
Cons: Few if any.

This monitor is huge! You don't realize how big 19 inches is until you have it on a desk in a bedroom/office, etc. I have a 19 CRT at work but somehow it doesn't seem as big as this one. The best part, though, is the picture. Very clear and crisp, good tones and color definition. USB ports are a nice feature, as is the digital connection (also has analog). Could not be happier with this monitor.

Pros: Good picture. Very clear. Rotates portrait or landscape.
Cons: Size can be overwhelming in a small space.

I purchased this monitor in July and I've been happy ever since. Great picture... The USB ports on the side have come in very handy. I purchased the optional sound bar that attaches to the bottom of the monitor and enjoy that as well.

Highly recommend...
