Pros: Macs are no longer computers - they're appliances for the digital lifestyle. Cons: OS 10.2 still has a few minor issues
Summary: SPECS
Complete specs at http://www.apple.com/ca/emac/specs.html. But here's the dirt from my perspective:
- 800 MHz G4: nice and peppy - roughly equiv to a 1.2 GHz Pentium
- 256M RAM: not enough, but RAM's cheap these ... read more

Pros: eMac is easy to use unlike Windows driven PC's. Cons: It may be hard to carry your old computer to the curb.
Summary: I have owned 5 PC ... If you have owned at least one you know they are garbage, or at least you will after you get your mac. It is easy to use but has the power to do anything you can imagine. There are no more "WINDOWS ERROR MESSAGES!" No more shutting ... read more

Pros: Speed, ease-of-use, graphics, software and overall value and cool mouse. Cons: Noisy, lack of back-up manuals, World Book very temperamental, long waits for phone assistance.
Summary: Balancing cost versus features, I bought an eMac with Combo drive, but upgraded to 512 megs of RAM and an 80 gig hard drive. Adding the tilt-n-swivel stand (works great - perfect height) and Epson all-in-one printer brought the butcher's bill to $1200 ... read more

Pros: Extremely stable platform, handy itunes/cd/DVD burner combination, simple to use right out of the box. Cons: Not easily upgradeable, CRT display instead of LCD, 1-button Mac mouse
Summary: We've had our eMac for several months now and love how well it runs. OSX just doesn't crash, what a relief from our old PC! The itunes is great for the kids, they love making custom cd's. It's also nice it has 3 usb ports so you probably won't need a ... read more

Pros: Wonderfully fast, stable and smartly designed OS. 17'' screen. Best value for a G4. Cons: Came with a 60GB hard drive which cannot be upgraded. Apples are pricey.
Summary: I bought my eMac in late September of 2002, so I've had it now for five months. I will never regret this purchase. This computer has never once crashed in the five months I've had it, despite all the programs I can tend to leave open when I'm doing web ... read more

Pros: An Awesome Deal Cons: a bit more noisy than average
Summary: This is simply an awesome deal. You get the performance of a G4 (there is a big difference) and a very, very large display. Even though the screen is sold as a 17" model, it is actually more like a 18" or 19" because it has such a large visible area. ... read more

Pros: Speed, graphics, features, ease of use, setup, style, size and overall function. Great value. Cons: The keyboard USB cord could be a little longer, depending your computer desk.
Summary: There is absolutely no reason to own anything other than this machine for a home computer. It will do almost anything you can ask it to, and the way it does it MAKES SENSE! If you're into digital photos, music or movies, look no further. It will decipher
