Pros: Great first PC for the student or first time user and dirt cheap!
Cons: No fire wire,video memory can't be upgraded,really basic sound card.

In sept 2003 it would not turn on so I had to ship it to HP in CA for repairs. Thank God at no cost to me! They had it back into my hands in a week. I'm glad to say all is well, being that I'm using the computer to write this review. :)
The paperwork said that the CPU wasn't getting any video so that was taken care of. This is a nice PC for a first time buyer who won't use it for 3D games. It will handle all the regular tasks without a sweat. I just installed the maximum of memory that the PC would allow....1,014Gig, so that should keep this puppy happy for a long time.
Wish I could do the same for the video memory but I can't.

I did some research for this computer and it had a good rating CD-net gave it a 4.4 out of 5 stars and they said it was very cheap to buy, well under 800 bucks.

Pros: Very affordable, appears to be high quality and built with good components.
Cons: My hard drive died in the first 7 months, taking all my data with it.

This is a quick review. The machine looks and generally runs well. I paid $699 for it at CompUSA. Although it has basically been a good machine, the hard drive suffered a total failure and none of my data could be recovered. Yes, I know I could have backed up my data.....lesson learned. CompUSA and HP took 4 WEEKS to replace the hard drive and restore functionality.
