Perfect photos from not perfect camera.

Pros: Amazing photos, accepts microdrive, intuitive controls,AA batteries
Cons: a bit bulky, fragile, somewhat slow, no wireless remote control
I just got this cam couple of days ago. Did some test shots with it and here's what I can say so far.

I also have olympus 3040, so I'll compare qv5700 to it.

Pros: Astonishing Sharpness, Battery Life, CFI & II, full manual overides
Cons: appaling internal flash.
Short of a DSLR, you are not going to get much sharper Pictures than this. In Program mode (Point 'n Shoot Mode), it's really easy to use. It also has Full manual Overrides, (Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Full Manual and Best Shot mode). Small ...
