Pros: small metal body, portability, fast picture processing, great quality. Cons: low battery life, SD card format, only 2X zoom, no microphone, slow startup time.
Although Kyocera is not a brand-name associated with digital cameras, the company actually manages to produce a fairly excellent digital camera despite a few faults. Most digital camera hunters tend to naturally flock toward the more popular names, such...
Pros: Very portable, metal case, low light sensitivity, many manual controls, 3.3 megapixels Cons: Battery life is very bad, image resolution not on par with other 3.3s
Dual-Branding Note
Note that Kyocera/Yashica manufactures at least two versions of the Kyocera Finecam S3: One with it’s own brand name on it (Kyocera), and one for Konica with Konica’s brand name on it (the Konica Digital Revio...
Pros: very compact; easy to use; good 3MP images; excellent battery life; 3x zoom Cons: pricey; uses expensive SD cards; images somewhat "soft"
Who the camera's for
The Kyocera S3L is aimed at people who like cool, small gadgets, and want a camera they can easily slip into the pocket of a pair of shorts. I fall in this category, as my last digital camera took beautiful...
Pros: very small size, excellent picture quality, manual controls, good macro Cons: battery life
I bought the Kyocera/Yashica Finecam S3 as I needed a subcompact digicam which can take good quality pictures. I have been using it for almost two months, and the S3 exceeded my expectations.
The camera is built around a 3.3 megapixel CCD....
Pros: Size, 3mp, movies, features Cons: battery life, proprietary battery, flash range
I've used many digital cameras for extended periods of time before I purchased the Finecam S3. Before the Finecam was released my main chooses were the Canon S100 and S300 and the Sony Cybershot. My main issues with those chooses were the lack of 3mp on...
Pros: Smallest size. Excellent picture quality. Cons: Battery life and charging procedures.
Hello!
I have been thinking about getting a digital camera for some time now. I have been reluctant because of the constant surge of ‘new and improved’. It is hard to take the plunge when one knows that a better item is just around the...
Pros: portable, image quality Cons: short battery life
Finecam S3 is a very small three megapixel camera. It can fit right into a shirt pocket. I like this camera because it is so lightweight and portable. Even though it is so small, it can be worked comfortably. It is easy to hold, and easy to adjust...
Pros: Petite; comes with USB card reader and AC power adaptor Cons: Non-existant battery life!!!
This was the first digital camera I've ever owned; at the time, 3 megapixels was "top end." I also wanted a small but sturdy camera that could fit into a pocket or purse. The Kyocera S3 Finecam has a rectangular metallic body that feels indestructable. ...

This camera produces high quality... by dr_stol_dt3000 ,Jul 08 '02
This camera produces high quality color pix with a good choice of compression vs. quality choices. It also makes decent 15 second movie clips, although it has no sound recording. The supplied card reader works well with my IMac and my Ibook, but was not compatible with my son's PC, necessitating the use of another brand of USB connector. I would not recommend this camera for the novice; it has a rather steep learning curve, and most of the features will not be useful to the average snapshot taker. The major disadvantage I have found is the power consumption, and the limited availability of parts. (I am still looking for a backup battery, for those occasions when I am not near a power supply, and one charge is hardly even enough to fill the minimalist 16 Mb storage card that comes with it.)
This camera fits in a jeans pocket, jacket vest pocket, in a briefcase with no noticeable weight, or just about anywhere else! Uses the same memory card as a Palm Pilot M500 series. Transfers files with a provided USB memory card holder that I've used with ease in both PC Windows 98, Win 2000 and Windows XP. I love it. Power consumption seems high when using the built-in flash. I bought a second battery but don't use it often...I just keep it plugged in till I need it.

I love this camera. Battery is a little hungry but consider the size! Takes a better
picture than my friends expensive 4.2 Canon. Great for traveling. A little common sense saves the battery well. Dont't review every picture after you take it; turn off the display when you have made all your settings and are taking multiple pics.

the camera is very nice
very good handling, the buttons are not to small, the picture-quality is best.
the software could be better---and i´d like to have some soft ware to use the cam for the WEB
The best thing I can say about this camera is that it is so small, you can take it anywhere. I have gotten a lot of good shots I would not have gotten otherwise. However, the battery power is limited. I was a little disappointed. I thought it was a malfunction until I read another review with the same issue. Overall, I have taken over 1,000 pix with this little camera in the past 6 months and have been pretty satisfied.
