Pros: Great software and easy to use. Cons: Poor picture quality and no flash.
When I bought this camera I had never used a digital camera before. This camera was cute, small and most importantly Cheap! I bought this camera for only $60.00.
When I first started using this camera I was impressed that I could take up to...
Pros: small, can be used as still, movie or web camera, low price Cons: quirky software
I was looking for a webcam but I didn't want to spend much money. The first one I tried in this price range was junk, back it went to the store. This was my second effort.
What's in the box:
The pencamera
driver cd and a copy of...
Pros: The 'continuous shoot' mode; compact size; instant snapshots. Cons: marginal image quality; limited storage; inadequate product support
I bought this cam on sale at the local Wal-Mart for just under $50, and given the price paid this is a pretty good basic digital cam. If you are looking for "professional" quality snapshots for printing or publication, you are better off with a...
Pros: It's small and it's cheap Cons: Bad pictures, flimsy, not worth the money.
The idea of a small camera that you can carry in your pocket is very cool. The fact that you can attach it to your computer and edit the pictures is very cool. The fact that you can email your pictures to others is very cool.
Pros: Compact, easy to use, cheap Cons: Image quality is so-so. No flash.
I recently purchased my AIPTEK VGA pen cam from a local Wal-Mart.It holds 26 pictures in High Res. mode, and 107 in Low Res. The picture quality is unusable in Low Res. mode. I don't even know why they include that. The picture quality is not perfect but...
Pros: Cheap price for what it can do. Cons: Won't take pictures in low light.
Wandering through Wal-Mart the other day looking for new toys to go with my new laptop, I ran across this little camera. I already own a Polaroid digital camera, but the size of this thing was just "neat!"
Pros: its small Cons: poor quality photos, battery problems, no flash, endless cons
I wanted to try an inexpensive digital camera before investing in a more expensive one.
Well, I lived and learned once again because this experience reminded me that we only get what we pay for and all I got from this was headaches and junk...
Pros: Pros, Small size, software is O.K. (hacked ST software) Cons: Too many to list, read below
Simple review, forget it, the pictures are blurry, overenhanced junk and everything else is crap. Pros, Small size, software is O.K. (hacked ST software) Cons, where Do I start, Poorly made, Terrible light performance, failure to just take pic in ...
Pros: Compact size, easy to use, price, great software bundle. Feels like you're James Bond. Cons: Not the best digital camera available. No flash.
This digital camera is not for everybody. If you're looking for a professional rig, great "available light" pictures, or a camera to take all the shots from your week long vacation- this is not for you.
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, inexpensive, great for beginners. Cons: You need lots and lots of light to use this one.
Recently while visiting family for Easter my husband and I spotted a interesting looking little camera called a PenCam in Wal-mart. We bought the camera with little discussion because it was certainly in our price range. In the car, my husband immediatly...
Pros: small and easy to use, Price Cons: Poor picture quality
My wife bought this for herself because it was cheap and boy is it!
The Aiptek PenCam Trio VGA Digital. The Trio means that it can take still images, short video and can be used as a PC cam.

I give this camera 10 out of 10 by wizentub ,Dec 08 '05
Pros: Web-cam and camera and video, fast to set up, self timer Cons: I cannot think of any
You know people think you need to pay money for quality, yet here I got this camera for under $50 Australian dollars, that was less than a stand alone web cam and over 600 percent less than the next cheapest digital camera. Sure it took me a while to learn about changing formats example: j.peg, bitmap etc but this would be the same with a $1000 camera.
I purchased one for my wife and kids as well so we can keep in touch via web but it was never used by them, as they think it cheap and nasty without ever using it and didnt know how.
This weekend they came to stay with me (separated) and wifey brought her new 5.0 megapixel camera to show me, actually she could not get it to work, so cost has nothing to do with reading instructions.
I have used this for 5 years and with the software that came with it (which incidentally is worth a lot of money to buy) you can do almost anything)
I really recommend this camera as a web cam and as a great way to learn your way around the digital age.
Problem downloading pictures.... by willsu0005 ,May 23 '05
Pros: small and light Cons: too simple, can't see pictures after you take them, software issues
I won this camera as a door prize.
So far I have not been able to download
the pictures. I have installed the software
(ArcSoft) and drivers correctly, but still there
is a problem. When I try to connect to the device
i get the dreaded "blue screen" which tells me there has been a problem, and my pc reboots.
you know......this is why you don't buy this cheap stuff. i am just wasting my time with this thing. also it seems like you lose your pictures if you take the battery out.
i give this product a 1 out of 10. i would never have bought it. well if you know how to fix this problem....please email me at willsu0005@yahoo.com
thanks.
Easy to use but poor quality all around by wvsher ,Nov 05 '03
Pros: Small size, ease of use Cons: Very poor photo quality, cheap materials
The Pencam Trio VGA would be a nifty little gadget, if only it took decent photos. Unfortunately, it does not. Even with excellent lighting, such as outdoors on a sunny day, the photos are very blurry and grainy if you're more than a foot or so from your subject. If you need a camera that's very small I'd recommend spending the extra few bucks on a Logitech Pocketcam. Both cameras take photos at 640x480 resolution, but photos taken with the Logitech are far superior to photos taken with the Pencam Trio VGA. I have recently purchased one of each and, no, I do not work for or have any stock in Logitech. :)
This Aiptek also seems to be cheaply made. Its case is of thin plastic, and the camera feels as if it will fall apart at any minute.
