Pros: TWO VACUUMS IN ONE. Equally efficient as both canister or upright. THOUGHTFUL ERGONOMIC DESIGN! Cons: HORRENDOUS SCREECHING when running over carpet fringes or obstacles. Confusing similarity between models.
With two shedding dogs (120 lbs big and with very long hair), two cats, a big house AND allergies, we needed a new vacuum. Our old one (EUREKA Genesis Upright) still had super suction but started eating up belts by the dozen (breaking or burning them up ...
Pros: Suction, ergonomics, style, thoughtful design Cons: Documentation, some attachments, pricing, model lineup
NOTE: I purchased a DC14 'Complete' (model sold only at Sears). Because it comes with 'everything', this 'Full Gear' category seems to be the closest match. PROS: Overall, the Dyson 'works as advertised'. Its suction is incredible, and its ...
Pros: Leaves carpets feeling like new, never loses suction Cons: Wand can be awkward to use
I bought my Dyson on Woot about a year ago. Frankly I had given up on vacuums but because these had such a good reputation I went ahead and purchased one. This particular one is more towards the bottom of their line but I did some research before I ...
Pros: Great suction, no extra parts to buy, lets you see how much you've vacuumed Cons: Pricey, suction may be a little too powerful, ergonomics aren't the greatest
This is the best vacuum I've owned. By now, you've heard all the hype. I must say, I'd generally have to agree. This thing has incredible suction and really doesn't lose suction. However, it's not without its faults. I originally bought this ...
Pros: Very light, easy attachments and canister Cons: I have not yet found one.
I can not say it enough, I LOVE this vacuum. I am absolutely amazed at how this vacuums sucks up EVERYTHING. I used to have a Hoover canister, which I paid $275 for. Once I got my Dyson DC14 in the mail, I vacuumed with the Hoover and then I used the ...
Pros: SUCTION SUCTION SUCTION! No hassle emptying, It's clean and did I mention the SUCTION? Cons: The cost. 5000 prototypes, remember? It's almost perfect. Almost.
Yep, I used a terrible pun and don't regret it at all. This thing sucks . . .dirt, pet hair, cat litter, the carpet itself. You name it, and it picks it up! I will keep this review short because all models are inherently the same. The DC07 series ...
Pros: Excellent cleaning ability, overall easy to use. Cons: Minor learning curve on attachments.
Note: The DC14 'Full Gear' is NOT the same as the DC14 'Complete'. Reviews for the 'Complete' refer to a different product under the DC14 line. I purchased this vacuum after my cheapie Eureka kicked the dust (literally). The Eureka lasted as long as ...
I wouldn't trade the Dyson for anything, it does what it advertises. I could vacuum daily and come up with enough hair to make another dog, the canister is that full when I'm finished. The area rugs and tile are completely clean when I am finished and ...
Pros: Reusable features (HEPA filter, etc.) Cons: Poor suction, too many features mean none work well, too many to list
I have to be up front: I'd never owned an upright before this machine. I actually had the Dyson Complete (found only at Sears) and hated every minute of it. The only part I liked was the bagless part. It was bulky and heavy and as an upright couldn't ...
Pros: Great pick up on bare floor and carpet, hose attachment attached Cons: The cord get twisted, little pricey
I purchased this vacuum 3 years ago when we moved into our new home and have had no problems with it. It's a little pricey, but worth it! I've cleaned houses for about 10 years and have tried out a variety of vacuums. I like the Dyson because it does ...
I bought my Dyson over a year ago; I’ve been very happy with it. Previously, I had owned a Hoover and Eureka. This is a big step up! This vacuum’s suction is very strong. Be careful that you don’t run over the cord or anything else that you don’t want ...
Pros: Length of cord, HEPA filter, bagless Cons: Can't think of any right now.
As I have said in another post, I am a vacuum collector. I am very picky when it comes to vacuums. For quite a while now I have wanted a Dyson. I originally wanted the canister but with moving into a two floor townhouse with almost all carpet I decided ...
Pros: Light weight & great suction Cons: Not a one
I thought my old vacuum was doing it's job until I got my Dyson. I was blown away on how much dirt it vacuumed up on the first use and after having it for 5 months still am amazed. I use it 1-2 times a week and it still is amazing on how much dirt it sucks up. I never expected it to be this good. And yes I can vacuum all of my 18 stairs with the vacuum sitting still at the bottom. Now that is what I call easy cleaning.
Warning: I think my Dyson is Damaging my Carpet! by annetteeebe ,Mar 24 '05
Pros: I have been disappointed from the beginning with this awkward and heavy vacuum. Cons: I suspect damage to my flooring from this vacuum.
I am becoming increasingly convinced that this vacuum is causing damage to my carpet. I think that it is pulling threads and fraying my carpet. Maybe it is my particular Dyson, but I hate this vacuum.
Problems with the Reusable filter by dbminor ,May 28 '07
Pros: Suction, ease of use. Cons: Replacement part, "lifetime" warranty of filter, customer service
I loved the Dyson at first until I cleaned the pre-filter as directed. I washed it and let it dry for more than the time described. The filter molded in the vacuum. It caused the vacuum to put off a mildew smell. It cost about $25 (including S/H) to fix. I called their customer service and they only wanted to sell me another one. Otherwise, I have been satisfied with the vacuum.
