Pros: Best investment I've made in 12 years. Cons: Pricy but cheaper than medical bills.
I don't know about all the negative reviews for this product. Do they or did they actually own one ? I've owned one for 12 years and I can tell you that my unit just broke down and I am looking at buying another one right away. It's a good thing I did ...
Pros: This machine performs as advertised. Cons: The only con we can think of it is simply too easy to use.
Let us attempt to put some common sense plausibility into this thread started here. His opinion, Ozone kills. It's bad for you and if you continue to place yourself in it's harmful path, you'll die. Non the fact that millions of these out dated ...
Pros: If it was cleaning the air, that would be a pro Cons: Easily busted, high maintenance, INEPT customer service
My grandparents bought the Classic unit in 1999. It was used maybe 6 months to a year until my grandpa died and my grandma moved away, leaving it in a closet for years. I picked it up in summer 2006, thinking it might help my boyfriend's cat allergies. ...
Pros: I like the smell of the ozone it produces. No other "pro's" Cons: Doesn't clear air; destroys all latex-containing items in your home; DANGEROUS 03 concentrations! Scary product!
Beyond the HIGHLY dubious claimed benefits of this device, and the known dangers of high ozone concentrations... This device (I had the Living Air Breeze) DESTROYED every latex item in my home: - a box of latex gloves - the waste-bands of my ...
Pros: Superb at odor/smoke elimination, good at relieving some allergic reactions, inexpensive to use Cons: Expensive (from manufacturer), The automatic detector/sensor is inconsistent.
I bought the XL-15 air purifier back in 1997 and have used ever since. I was amazed at how it could 'clean' the air, destroy odors, and help me in my allergies. I found that I didn't sneeze nearly as much and whenever I took it to friends/family ...
Pros: generates money for people who really don't care about your health. A big SCAM Cons: Low setting does little to clean air.
High setting is dangerous to your health.
I purchased a Living Air purifier hoping that it would clear my indoor air from pet dander and any other particles big enough to see. In my experience It did not work. 1st because the air purifier was not designed to filter air. 2nd What it does is ...
Pros: Removes odors well, leaves fabric items smelling clean and fresh. Cons: If set incorrectly, it WILL generate an ozone smell. Does not reduce dust.
On the good side, I've had my Living Air Purifier for 2 years now and have had good luck with it cleaning smells out of my house. Before I got it, I had 3 cats and a basement with a mildew problem (although not severe, it is smelly and annoying). The ...
Pros: Kept my wife from sneezing and coughing in the middle of the night. Cons: Smell of air purifier made me feel sick to my stomach w/ headache. Expensive.
My wife's brother had an Ecoquest Breeze that he let us borrow. He swore by it and said that it took away his coughs and he was never sick when he had it around. My wife often wakes in the middle of the night coughing and sneezing due to allergies. We ...
Pros: Small, but can do the entire house from one location. Low power consumption. Quiet opperation. Cons: 03 plates must be kept clean or they loose effectiveness.
As I reached my thirties I began to develop allergies. Every six to eight weeks I was on some sort of antibiotic due to colds and sinus infections. I always saw that "smokey haze" in the beams of sunlight coming through windows. My wife's a clean freak ...
Pros: Good for the bank accounts of the manufacturer and distributors. Cons: Does not eliminate dust. Requires cleaning. Potentially hazardous.
I bought my Living Air Classic two years ago after recovering from a bout with walking pneumonia. I believed the advertising claims that it would clean and sanitize the air in my home, and that it would be good for my health. I have run it 24/7 on the ...
Pros: High quality, well built, worth the money. Cons: Sometimes noisy when set on high. Purifier control is more coarse than I would like.
I thought I might let you know that I had a severe sinus problem that plagued me for a decade. I tried everything, saw doctors in multiple states, all said it was part of getting on in years. I had a particularly bad attack while visiting family in FL ...
Pros: None, unless you like the smell of ozone Cons: This device deliberately generates ozone which is a toxic gas and a major air pollutant
I don't write a review of a product on epinions unless I feel strongly about a product. Since I feel very strongly in the negative direction against the so-called "Living Air Classic" this review will reflect that. WHY I WROTE THIS REVIEW Like ...
The Beginning of the End by ohmyallergies ,Nov 03 '09
Pros: Great for odor removal Cons: Ozone is produced which can be harmful, particularly those with sensitive respiratory systems.
As you can see in other reviews the Ecoquest Living Air is an ozone generator and not an air purifier that will remove allergens from the air. If you are looking to remove gases such as odors from a room this could be a good product for you. Some hotels use similar products to shock rooms to make them smell fresher. If you are looking for an air purifier to clean the air of dust, pollen, etc then you should get a HEPA air purifier. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is moving forward with banning ozone generators for sale in California beginning in Oct 2010. In our opinion this could be the beginning of the end for these ozone generating units that can do more harm than good if run constantly in an enclosed living area. http://www.air-purifier-ratings.org/
The Air DOES smell cleaner, but your whole house will be STICKY! by davehuth ,Oct 03 '06
Pros: The air did smell cleaner. Cons: Sticky film on EVERYTHING. Seriously. (And your toys will fall apart!!!)
A lot of reviews for this product mention the sticky residue that settles all over the house when using it. This is TRUE. Your windows will fog up, and the sticky residue will be everywhere. Another damaging side effect is this machine's effect on rubber/plastic. I'm a toy collector, and have noticed a rapid deterioration of soft rubber parts on some of my collectibles. First was an expensive Halloween mask I had put on display. I picked it up after a few months and it literally fell apart in my hands. (At the time, I thought it must have been made with cheap material.) Then some action figures that were held together internally with rubber pieces started to fall apart on the shelf. In another room, the rubber handgrips on a 4 month old exercise machine have started to fall apart. (I wish I could say this was from using the machine too much, but sadly that's not the case!!!) And now, as a homeowner, I have to wonder what effect this might have on the insulation of the electrical wiring within my walls!!! My living air "classic" is now sitting in my trash can.
Pros: Removes bad smells quickly Cons: Difficult to find where to order replacement parts.
I've had my classic air for a year or so now. With 5 dogs and 6 cats, my home was not a nice place to visit. The classic air removed those dogs smells easily. I keep it on low and have had no health problems. Sometimes if I burn something, I will put the machine on a higher level and the burnt smell leaves quickly. Then you'll get that ozone smell, but turning it back to low takes care of that problem. I love not having to buy filters. FYI: I am not a dealer.
