Pros: Clean up a snap; one-time investment, nothing else to buy; very good results. Cons: Hard to get into nooks, results not as long as wax, hurts more than wax.
It does hurt some, but all hair removal hurts some. I got this to avoid the mess of cleaning wax off of my skin and every surface in the bathroom (and I always found sticky spots on the floor after I mopped with special wax remover stuff). I also hated ...
Pros: Fast, virtually painless, thoroughly removes all hair, shaver and travel case included Cons: hurts a bit when epilating underarms, corded would have preferred it to be cordless
I came on here last November and researched the epilator reviews. I really wanted one for Christmas.
I've tried everything in the last 6 months for something to replace shaving. I was using wax strips made in France, and they seemed to work pretty...
Pros: Ultra smooth legs, quick and easy to use, relatively inexpensive versus waxing regularly Cons: Somewhat loud, fear inducing, possibly painful
I hate stubble; I mean hate it BAD. So I began waxing my legs - myself. Even with salon quality materials it was a messy undertaking. So I began having my legs professionally waxed, but you have to let the regrowth reach a certain length prior ...
Pros: Two rows for smoothly across skin.
Strong motor & quiet.
Skin Safety feature works. Cons: Universal voltage would be a nice plus.
I've used other Rotary Epilators (Philips and Remington) over the years and they are great machines for pain, if your into that sort of thing and they never did work very well.
However, this Twin Rotary Epilator works smoothly, has a strong...
Pros: Works great and not much pain. Stops spinning if it grabs skin. Cons: It died on me after one year.
I bought this about a year ago after reading a lot of these reviews. I've used it about once a month since then and it worked great. The one time it caught my skin behind my knee it stopped right away so it didn't really hurt. It leaves little red ...
Pros: Gets better with time. Don't give up!!! Think smooth. Cons: loud and corded
I bought this product after reading the previous reviews on this website. I was looking for an epilator that was the least painful and that I could use on my underarm hair. Living in FL, I am frequently in sleeveless outfits and I really wanted to use a ...
Pros: Works pretty well. Cons: Not battery operated, can cause ingrown hairs, hurts like heck!
In these modern times of 'Man-Scaping' and 'Metrosexuality', it's important that guys today ... well ... be more nicely groomed than they were like twenty years ago. Many men are fortunate not to have to go through the process of removing unwanted hair ...
Pros: Works in hair removal. Painful, but fast. Need to use every 3-4 weeks. Cons: Short life span. Very poor customer service. Rude.
I have owned 3 of the Emjoi AP99's. None have lasted more than 16 months. The latest has been 9 months. The tweezer heads are practically guaranteed to break. I've had 6 of them break. It has a 12 month warranty, so that will get you 1 repair before ...
Fantastic alternative to Shaving! by dfp430 ,Oct 13 '09
Pros: Easy to use. 2 speeds. Comes with multiple accessories. Cons: A little painful at first. Loud. Somewhat difficult to clean unless you use compressed air.
I bought the Epilator after a lot of research on-line. I was sick of shaving every other day and waxing would get too expensive. After I used the Emjoi AP99 I was hooked for life! It may hurt a little at first (the closest thing I can compare it to would be like getting a tattoo) but after a while you don't feel it anymore. I use the Epilator once a month and I couldn't be happier! My leg hair doesn't grow in as fast and when it does come in it is fine. I even use this on my arms! I do not recommend using it on the face as it can cause irritation and even catch the delicate skin and cause cuts.
Pros: Large epilating area, 2 directions (less painful & quicker), interchangeable razor head Cons: No cordless option
I had an old Silk Epil by Norelco for several years and when it finally died I searched for the best epilator. I am very happy with this one, and it exceeds the quality of my old Norelco! The large area and 2 sets of tweezers that go in opposite directions is much quicker and less painful than 1 set that rotates in 1 direction. The comfort level of this one is very good and the extra razor head makes this product versatile. If you're not used to epilating or waxing it can be painful at first, but the pain goes away if you use it regularly. If you already wax, epilating is quicker and you never have to buy more supplies like you do with waxing. This Emjoi is a keeper!
Pros: Pain is minimal and hair grows back much smoother than before Cons: If you press too hard against the skin the plastic wheels inside wear down quickly
I have had this product for years and it is the best! I love the fact I only have to shave every six weeks or so. I purchased a cheaper, rechargeable model, the Gently Gold Caress Cordless, which did not even come close to removing hair as efficiently as the Optima does. The phrase "the most expensive is the best" does not always hold true, however, in this case it does!
Couldn't decide if dealing with... by lynne_dt3001 ,Jan 04 '03
Couldn't decide if dealing with the cord outweighs not having to replace batteries. Guess that is an individual thing. I found that I have to go over areas several times to get the result I want. Again, probably an idividual thing depending on growth, etc. I was amazed at how little discomfort and how effective it was. I'm looking forward to seeing how long it lasts for me, but will certainly outlast many shavings. I have recommended the product to friends after using it only a few days. Overall, I'm very pleased. Just wish I'd known about this machine sooner.
Pros: Easy to use. Two heads. Cons: Slight pain takes a little getting used to.
I owned an older model of an Emjoi previously and when my cat chewed through the cord I decided to upgrade. I did some research and thought this would be the way to go since it offers 2 heads - one for shaving like underarms and bikini area and the other head as an epilation head. Since I have used epilation systems before I had an idea of what to expect. The slight pain is there but it lessens with each use. My hair is course and grows fast so I do not find that I am able to last several weeks but the upkeep is still easier than shaving every day. The soft skin lasts longer also. I know some people do not like the idea of the cord but I prefer it.
