Pros: Huge, super high-quality 2.5-inch LCD; discounted pricing; small size; good image quality; ease of use Cons: No optical viewfinder, no AV-out, some red-eye problems, so-so video clip quality
If youre thinking about purchasing one of todays compact digital cameras, you might want to take a hard look at this very interesting 5-megapixel model from Epsonthe L-500V. Though not quite in the ultra-thin micro cam category ...

Pros: Light, Must-Have LCD screen, Snazzy black finish, Pretty Pictures. Start drooling. Cons: No viewfinder, no on-camera black & white.
A recent trip home to Santa
Barbara afforded me the opportunity to try out Epson's newest and sleekest camera yet. I've been drooling over smaller camera for some time now, and have even used a few ...

Great LCD viewer for sharing, average Picture quality
by cramus ,Dec 03 '04
Pros: Great LCD view screen - 256,000 pixels, good battery life Cons: Picture could be sharper - lacks video out jack, no B/W or Sepia mode
This is by far the best LCD screen viewer i have seen. 256,000 pixels - bright. Everybody can marvel at your pictures right away. The camera is fast, and has a good battery life (200 pictures claimed - I have not yet taken that many to confirm it).
Its internal memory is 32Mega which together with the 16 Mega SD card is enough get you started. A 256 Mega is a good addition.
The picture quality seems average to me - could sometimes be sharper, but enough for point & shoot.
It lacks some features most other cameras have: no video out jack, no Black & White or Sepia modes.
The camera is very compact but not ultra thin.

Fun, value and compact 5MP camera!
by chunich ,Feb 02 '05
Pros: Outdoor & continuous mode available;
Zoomable & unlimited video;
HUGE LCD. Cons: Limited Scene modes; Video quality so-so
Originally bought Casio Exilim Z-40 but the LCD was too bad to use in the dark with a lot of noise. Returned it and found this alternative that came with 5MP and about the same value.

Excellent Camera
by lgvelez ,Jun 11 '05
Pros: Very decent pictures
Speed!
Large LCD
5mp at great price Cons: Needs a few more scene modes built in
Why no wrist strap?
I purchased this camera yesterday and am already very pleased with it. I have a Canon A95, which has more bells and whistles, but the ability of this Epson to snap fast pictures is excellent. The output is wonderful for a P&S camera ... just what I wanted.
I am not a camera novice, but don't want to sit around and fiddle with settings while my subject escapes (pets and grandkids) ... I am grabbing pictures fast with this little jewel.
I am wondering how those people who bought the camera a couple of months ago feel about it now? I am hoping for good durability, too.
Laura
