Pros: It works if you're desperate enough to use it. Cons: It doesn't work well, and the input jack wears.
This device accepts audio input through its mini headphone jack and broadcasts the audio in stereo over one of four FM channels in the 88 Mhz range. You pick which channel has the best reception. For me, it was 88.1, but for you, depending on the ...
Pros: Cheap and simple solution for car MP3 stereo Cons: Mediocre sound quality, eats AAA batteries
The Irock 400FM is a short-range stereo FM transmitter designed to let you send the output from a portable MP3 player (or any other audio device) to any standard FM radio. The primary intended use is in the car, since most car stereos have an FM radio, ...
Pros: Excellent for cars, Good-quality stereo signal travels at least 15 feet, Easy to use. Cons: Not for you if your FM antenna is on the roof or far away.
I bought it so I could easily play my Creative Jukebox Zen MP3 player in my car without having to purchase an aftermarket box for $100 that fools my factory radio into thinking I have an external CD player. The iRock has worked out perfectly. It ...
Pros: Easy to use and install, works well, inexpensive, good sound Cons: Should live near a city, sensitive power button
It really is amazing how many different ways we have to listen to music these days. Remember, the whole way back to the late 1990's when you had a walkman and maybe the ability to burn a cd on your computer, but that was about it. Now we have portable ...
Cool little transmitter for many uses. by mccroryclan ,Oct 25 '05
Pros: Great concept. Relatively cheap. Cons: Power Hog.
I primarily use this transmitter with a mini radio to listen to tunes in the office without the problem of getting tangled in the headphones cord. I plug it into my computer and let the tunes roll.
The model transmitter that I have does not have a power adapter, but I highly recommend it. This thing seems to suck-up the juice and kills two AAA batteries within a few days of use (approx. 15 hrs). The concept is great and very functional for those of us who cannot afford the mini MP3 players.
Pros: -Fair price for FM transmitter
-Excellent sound quality
-Outstanding reception Cons: -Will break if left in a hot car
This is by far the best FM transmitter on the market. It blows away even $50 in terms of sound quality. There is no distortion or interference whatsoever.
Pros: cheap Cons: very poor sound and few frequency choices
I bought it from RadioShack. It has very bad sound quality. The sound is scratchy and tinny. I thought perhaps it was because the city i live in has too many stations at the end of the dial, but i noticed that going thru a tunnel makes no difference in the quality. It seems to make no difference where you place it in the car, even right under the antenna it has poor sound. I suspect bad engineering.
Another problem is that it only has 4 channel selections. Other products of this purpose that i have seen on the Internet have more choices of frequencies.
Pros: Usable on anything with an FM receiver Cons: Poor sound quality
I bought one from Radioshack ($30). Used it for a couple of days and returned it. The sound quality was not very good. It has an extremely limited range (couple of feet)..
