Fender Jimmy Vaughan Stratocaster: Hot, Hot, Hot

by ahand ahand is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Musical Instruments, , Jun 13 '07
Pros: Excellent guitar with flash where it belongs, in the function, not the style.
Cons: It has a sound that will appeal to some, not to others.
I won't bore you with the details on how this guitar suddenly became a part of my collection. Suffice to say that a banjo purchase didn't come off, and I later walked into a Guitar Center with the cash still in my pocket. The saleman I always deal with ...

Talk of the Town!

by edtvntenn , Aug 31 '06
Pros: Great look and workmanship equal to Fender USA Stratocasters.
Cons: The overwound Tex Mex pickups may be a little bright for some tastes.
Ever been driving home with the radio on, and hear the familiar strains of a oldie, such as "Sultans of Swing," and once again hear the sweet tone of an electric guitar complimenting the melody? More than likely, that tone is coming from a vintage 50s ...

Good, basic Strat with a great neck

by ziptron , Oct 31 '00
Pros: Great neck, normal Strat features, comfortable body.
Cons: Some slight inattention to detail in assembly.
More than anything, the Jimmie Vaughan signature Stratocaster is just a good, basic Strat. Unlike most other artist signature Strats, it's built in Mexico to keep costs down, but it is as well-made as most other Fenders that cost twice as much.

Let the Blues Licks Fly With Jimmie

by bluesboy_g , Apr 27 '01
Pros: Playable, efficient, affordable
Cons: Not an American Standard Stratocaster
Wanna play some blues but are dissatisfied with your 6 string? Well check out the Jimmie Vaughan Startocaster and let your fingers go to work.

I have been a fan of Stratocasters for a long time now. I have always wanted an American Standard...

I love this guitar

by mr_bo_dangles , May 24 '03
Pros: v-shaped neck, great action, great tone, extremely comfortable
Cons: Very minor assembly issues, but i've seen U.S.A. strats with worse problems
I not sure if I have ever found a guitar that delivers so much for so little. I own Fender U.S.A. strats that don't sound half as good as this one....and they cost twice as much!

When the employee at the store showed it to me, I almost...

Perfect For ANY KIND OF MUSIC, (Blues first)
by bornys ,Aug 20 '08
Pros: Every things at all, is a PERFECT guitar.
Cons: that cheap 1 ply pickguard. No problem at all.
Wonderfull guitar!!! the best Fender ever. I have a US Strat and my new Jimmie Vaughan strat smoke my American Made Strat!!! The neck is made for my hand, comfortable, the intonation are serious in all fretboard, perfect with satin finishing, nice aged nuance (nor that palid necks of the mex standards!!). I don´t need to fine tune the frets, they arrive perfects, no buzz!!! Sound beautiful in any pups, at any amp I play. The bridge hot texmex give an warm, pure blues tone at all. The body has a awesome cream color, perfect finishing. Visually gorgeous guitar! The hardware is all american made, the tuners are gotoh vintage style, give a perfect pitch. IT´S MY LIFETIME GUITAR.
