Pros: Good playability, good neck shape, better than the strat copies. Cons: Poor quality parts, satisfaction short lived, not the best investment (resale value).
Let me first qualify that I'm a fan of Fender. I own two strats and I prefer them over any other guitar out there. The MIM (made in Mexico) strat I owned was my first strat and I'm partially writing this review for those of you thinking about buying ...
Pros: Tradition high quality musical Fender Strat with an added dimension of tone. Cons: None at all.
If you have seen many bands live in concerts or clubs, you probably have noticed the guitarists stopping between songs quite a bit to change guitars. The reason for this is that each model of guitar has a distinctive tone that the guitarist feels is ...
Pros: Design suits me well. Layout of the 3 Pickups make diverse sounds. Cons: Pickups hum. Floyd Rose difficult to set up. No Tele sounds. Universal body routing!
I opened this bad boy to change the pickups and noticed it is universally routed (meaning one could install 3 humbuckers in the body). I thought this guitar was a little lax in volume...
Pros: EVERYTHING!!! Cons: The price tag is quite high.
This guitar is absolutely fantastic! From its classic looks to its brilliant tone, this guitar is worth every cent you'll spend on it. I bought this guitar for several reasons. Firstly, I played it in my local music shop and was amazed by the fast ...
Pros: No frills, solid body electric guitar, lives up to reputation. Many upgrade parts available. Cons: Basic electric guitar.
I bought this guitar in a second hand store. It had barely been used and didn't have a single scratch, dent or mark on it much less any fret wear. It is a 2002 model Mexican Standard Strat. Black body, maple neck, standard hardware.
This is what I...
Pros: They usually play well Cons: Hard to find cheap
I have over 30 Guitars in my house and what I've learned from playing them all is that it is not the model; it's the guitar itself. I've played a fender strat plus made in the us and then played a cheap fender made in Mexico, and the one from Mexico...
Pros: playablity, durability, sound Cons: no locking trem
The first guitar I bought was a mexican made 1996 fat strat. It has a served me very well. I have the action adjusted perfectly for my playing on it, and like the feel of it very much. Even though I play mostly heavy rock and metal stuff, this guitar...
Pros: Great sound, easy tuning, low action, affordable price Cons: 6th string slightly muted. But thats just how all strats sound.
First i would like to start about why the guitar is such a good deal. Its sound quality is simply bright and clean in the neck and middle pickups. It's almost as if each had it's own voice. The humbucker is great for distortioned effects but could...
Pros: Great sounds, Nice looks (especially the sunburst it's gorgeous), Amazing Value, Reliable Cons: Bridge will probably need adjusting by a proffessional and pickup selector cap falls of easily
I think Fat Strats are really cool because they come with Two Single Coils and a Humbucker. The Two Single Coils are great when you play clean and then just switch it down to the humbucker when playing distorted.
It comes with a tremolo or wammy bar to bend the sound. Great if your playing blues. Most guitars don't come with tremolos not even high end gibsons(it's really fun to use by the way). Also the neck is really nice for a guitar at this price range.
This was my second guitar. My first was a 150$ First Act esque peice of trash. Anyway I decided I really needed a step up so I got this. I am extremely satisfied with my decision.
If you want a guitar for a decent price if your starting out or are on a tight budget there is no better choice. If you want a really sweet distortion also get the boss Metal Zone distortion pedal. It's sooo expensive but sooo good.
Great mid level guitar by zos_quag_558 ,Sep 08 '05
Pros: Solid, and durable. Great value, and an all around great guitar. Cons: None really...Except I wish they would come out with a green strat.
This guitar is great for a mid-level player. I would not suggest it to a starter, because $300+ is a lot for something you may get sick of, and quit in a month, so you may want to go with one of the squire or epiphone starter packs.
Experienced players may outgrow this guitar, but not anytime soon. I have been playing for 9 years, and this was my guitar for about half that time, and it treated me very well. For the price, you can't beat a Fender Strat.
Pros: Very versatile sounds. Cons: Limited bending ability because of board and tremolo.
This is my main ax. It's from Fender, so that means it's already awesome, but on to specifics. The pickup selector is the great part, I can be very versatile since this Strat includes a humbucker. If I want to sound like Charlie Hunter I can detune the E to C and play the neck pickup. If I want to sound like John Mayer, switch down a notch to neck and middle. If I want to play Metallica, kick down to the humbucker and mess with my amp. Works great. The action is nice and low, however the strings of course are very close to edge of the board if you like to bend like crazy. I've also noticed that if you do bend, the guitar will go out of tune while you bend.
Pros: if you like it, buy it! Cons: i strongly recommend this guitar
this guitar has nice sound, great playability, and an amazing humbucker. i loved it from the firs time i set my eyes upon it. it truly is a great example of Fender guitars.
