Pros: Interesting concept (drawers) and still looks cool. Cons: About $200 to $800 more expensive than more traditional dishwashers AND DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.
3 YEAR UPDATE: Well, our experience after year one with this machine has not been good. Shortly after writing the review (figures, eh?) the lower drawer stopped getting the dishes clean (food particles still on the items, water spots as well). About ...
Pros: Integrated face plate looks great, cleans perfectly if you stack correctly, lower temperatures Cons: Instruction and installation books, plastic face plate, initial understanding, powder holder hold water
Lets get some of the facts out in the open. This dishdrawer has copped a lot of bad press in the past about leaking etc and rightly so! But that was the past and all stemmed from the same problem. Unlike other dishwashers this one slides in and then a ...
Pros: nice exterior design Cons: many drawbacks for the price
We have used this dishwasher for two years. We thought it would be good for a small family of two people. Before we bought it, I read a review on the web that said it was hard to load. This didn't seem significant. How hard could it be to load ...
Pros: Quiet, look nice. Cons: Terrible capacity, hard to load, lousy rack system.
We rented a house during the summer of 2008 while we started a complete renovation of our house. Our rental house recently underwent a kitchen renovation and had 2 of these F & P upper drawer units installed on either side of the sink, less than 2 years ...
Pros: Convenience, coolness, quiet Cons: Early models have significant service issues (resolved)
The abysmal ratings for this model look scary.. Understand however that the mfg has improved the unit quite a bit, and units purchased new shouldn't have the issues that the old ones had.. Originally F&P used an air inflated bladder to seal the top ...
Pros: When working does an excellent job. Cons: Dreadful customer service (from F&P and Huby) and a poorly qualified service team (Huby).
After only a few months of operating we found dishes were not drying. Called service department (Huby Domestic for those in the North East of England) and described problem. Technician arrived and told me (before looking at the problem) "it's probably ...
Pros: innovative, beautiful , fun to load/unload, energy/water efficient -- great job cleaning dishes Cons: Needs maintenance every 6 months. Inadequate filter system. Make Flapper-valve user-service-able
I've owned this lovely two drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher for 2-1/2 years. I love it as much as I hate it. It's lovely and it cleans well, and the two drawer option is just so innovative and convenient. The only problem is that it needs a service call ...
Pros: This machine looks very nice on the outside and cleans very easily on the inside. Cons: DIfficult to load and fix, faulty parts, difficult to fix, untrained technicians
I have owned this product for eight years. In that time we have fixed the back and front switches on each drawer twice. The draining hose has been repositioned twice. The electronic timing is very senisitive and although it can be reset with an odd ...
Pros: Like having two dishwashers, since the two drawers operate independently. Cons: Overflows. Absolutely no food or it clogs. Arcane controls. Lousy dry function.
I have never had an appliance this bad before. We purchased this dishwasher for our new home and started using it in 2002. We required service on it six time in the first year alone. There are two basic problems with the dishwasher: the first is that ...
Pros: nice looking junk Cons: If it works, use only with clean dishes!
I bought it 2 weeks ago and had problem from very beginning: upper drawer worked, but lower was very loud and never was be able to finish cycle. I had error F2 and other that had no label but faucet cross over. The repair man told that motor was ...
Pros: Two drawers, not having to wash large loads. Generally does a good job washing. Cons: Poorly designed; parts fail. Poor customer service. Factory reneged on their promise!
We purchased a model DD602 Dish Drawer five years ago. The product is just great when it works, but we have had the repairman out four times since new, not good for just about the most expensive dishwasher we could buy. After the last repair, which is ...
Pros: quiet Cons: expensive, must pre-wash dishes, must constantly clean filtering system, not reliable, no service available locally
We carefully chose all our appliances when we remodeled our kitchen and decided to pay extra to purchase a pair of (very) expensive Fisher Paykel dish drawers instead of the equally quiet Bosch dishwasher. The F-Ps are very quiet, but that is the only ...
Pros: Looks nice in the kitchen when new. Cons: Shonky electronics that are inadequately shielded. Poor service, and poor parts availability.
Nice idea. Appalling implementation. The thing is a lemon. Sliding drawers sound fine, except that this means the drain hose, the inlet hose and associated wiring have to move back and forth as well. The drain hose in particular, made from cheap plastic, ...
Pros: It Saves energy and I like that I can was smaller loads right away. Cons: My repair needs are not met in a timely manner.
1)It shorted out 3 weeks after it was installed
2) It took SIX months to find a repair person in my area
3) I have had ALL the interior wiring replaced, both computer controls, both filter boards, the spinner thing..etc..
I think the major problem was the sales person was not listening when I explained my needs. This is probably a good product for a small household and not a great deal of traffic in the kitchen. I feed any where from 4 teen boys a day (Mine) and many more of their friends. I don't think this product was made to handle the demands of my household.
Never the less I do have concerns about the availability of repair options and the speed with which repairs are made..I've been waiting 2 weeks for a call back from a tech.
Impresses the neighbors, but doesn't clean dishes by theeduc8tor ,Dec 16 '08
Pros: Jealous neighbor effect. Cons: Must be cleaned manually, noisy, doesn't clean.
We purchased the F & P DishDrawer in May of 2005 as a clearance item at Lowe's. When we renovated a kitchen in our newest property, we installed the DishDrawer to make an impression. An impression it certainly did make! First of all, you have to manually clean the dish drawers at least every two weeks. This means you have to fully disassemble the internal parts and scrub them clean...its like doubling your kitchen cleaning duties! After each wash, you have to empty the food particle catcher because it does not have a hard food disposer. Next, this thing sucks JetDry like a GMC Hummer sucks gas. The top drawer is quiet, but the bottom drawer sounds like a tank is driving through your kitchen. Lucky for me, I can list this thing on Craigslist and someone will buy it off of me because they will want a fancy item in their kitchen. I'm totally going back to a Maytag or an LG dishwasher. Nothing beats a machine with a built-in hard food disposer and a machine that you don't have to clean every two weeks!
