Frigidaire FMV156D 950 Watts Microwave Oven

Pros: The microwave unit works well.
Cons: The plastic exterior cracks many times under normal usage.

I bought this microwave because it looked fine in the store and great in my kitchen. I have had to call and get plastic parts around the exterior of the microwave replaced three times because they crack. My microwave is still under warranty, so the dealer/servicer is honoring the warranty, but soon it will be my $. The parts are not cheap! The unit does the job of microwaving, but the engineering of the plastic case is extremely poor. I did call the manufacturer and was told that as long as the unit worked they would not replace or refund anything. You can be sure I will never buy anything made by Frigidaire again.

Pros: The price was cheap
Cons: You get what you pay for...a very cheaply made microwave .

The Frigidaire FMV 156D is a LEMON!! The micro-switches that activate when the door closes are defective. I know...the first one went out during the warranty year, and the repairman said that the switch was a problem for these microwaves. Six months later (out of warranty) the switch went out again...this time caused by a faulty mounting...a mounting that secured the switch with a "bump" of plastic...ready to dislodge. That repair bill was $167 from A & E Appliance Service. I could have bought the same microwave for a little over that amount but the Service center was going to charge me $65 anyway just for the estimate. I wish I had never bought the oven.
