Pros: Very convenient detergent dispenser, very fast final spin, uses very little water and consumables Cons: Short as designed, perfect with a 15" base. Many parts to remove before use
The Upgrade I had already replaced the clutch assembly on the 1986 vintage Hotpoint top-loader a few years back, and it was beginning to make "that noise" again. My wife jokingly referred to the laundry room as "the factory", because of the ...
Pros: Quiet, Works Well Cons: Self Cleans Lint?-Not Exactly
I have owned my Frigidaire Washing Machine for a year, and I've been very pleased with it. It is an able performer in washing dirty clothes, and bringing them back to life. Last summer my beloved Kenmore Washer from circa 1985, finally bit the dust after ...
Pros: Energy efficient due to stingy water usage but yet still cleans well. Cons: Design defects, quality and reliability problems
OK, so a couple of years ago our old Kenmore toploader died after 15 years of hard use. At the time we had an electric hot water heater and an aging septic system, so a washer that used very little water was a huge plus. I researched washers for ...
Pros: Well-designed, works well. Cons: Did not last.
I enjoyed this machine for some 5 years. I was attracted to it for its stainless steel basket, since my water tends to be acidic. Had a bit of trouble keeping the machine balanced at first, but it seemed to wear itself in. I found it well-designed in ...
Pros: Quiet.
Low water/consumables consumption.
Cleans great!
LOUD BUZZER!!! ;) Cons: Front-loader (shipping bolts to worry about)
Oh yeah, and from what I hear, "the-buzzer-is-too-loud"... ;)
All of these people who left crappy reviews of this washer... I just don't get it... my wife and I always rave about ours, we love it!!! We don't have kids so our usage on it has been lighter than other people's, maybe that's it I don't know... but ...
Pros: Worked for awhile and looks good. Cons: HAS SERIOUS DESIGN PROBLEM and Mfr will not admit or help.
About 1 year after using this lemon, the basket was starting to knock somewhat at times. Having never owned a front loader I was told that was normal by store sales personal. A few times (around year 2) I discovered dark gray and black streaks all over a ...
Pros: Looks nice, was quiet and washed well. Cons: VERY short life span and no help from Frigidaire. Stay away!
My wife and I wanted a washer we felt would last, looked good and performed well. Everything we knew and read about Frigidaire washers led to the purchase of the front loading models. When it was working it did work well, wasn't too loud (we have a ...
One unit was 5.1 years old. The other 6.2 years. Both developed leaks. The first one leaked from the drum through a weeping hole. Repair estimate is $500+. $12 part. As has been mentioned, the drum seal is very difficult to replace. The entire machine ...
Pros: It washed the clothes well until now. Cons: Banging loudly during the spin cycle.
I am also a VICTIM of the Frigidaire front loading washing machine. Mine is about 4 years old and is now banging very loudly during the spin cycle. I called a repair person and was told this is very common for this machine. He has not come out to look at ...
Pros: Quiet. Look good. Cons: Too expensive to repair, making you buy the basic machines next time (if you're smart).
I have a Frigidaire Gallery Series, fron load washer and dryer. They are approximately 8-10 years old. About 6 months ago, we kept getting clothes that were getting stuck in a spot in the dryer and getting burn marks on the clothes. ...
Pros: Very easy to use, quiet, clothes comes out clean & almost dry Cons: Drain hose leak, small & low opening
We bought this machine because it was a good buy. The washer and dryer pair for only $799. We moved into a house with a smaller laundry room and needed something stackable. We've been married for 12 years and have only owned Frigidaire washer and ...
We recently built a new house and because of that, the local chamber of commerce gave us "bonus bucks" to be used locally. so we decided to buy a new washing machine as ours was a '76 vintage maytag. I was very impressed with it from the time i saw it. very easy to operate, and quiet when running.
The only downsides I see of it, are as with any front loader, its low door for loading clothes. Also, the detergent drawer seems a little weak, but other than that, I love it.
Great value - uses very little water - effective cleaning by taycel ,Dec 03 '06
Pros: Value, performance, only 17 gallons of water usage per cycle. Cons: Short in size without the optional base.
After four years of use, this machine has performed without fail. Contrary to other dismal reviews, I have used this machine at least five times a week with great results. It is without a doubt the best $600 washing machine on the market.
Pros: Cleans wonderfully; super quiet; low water and detergent Cons: Unpacking and set up is a bit challenging.
I have always owned top load, agitator washers and was never satisfied with them. They never got my clothes clean enough for me - everything that was supposed to be white was always slightly dingy gray. For years I have avoided buying white towels, socks or undergarments in white because I knew they would look dingy within a few weeks. I bought my Frigidaire about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it! First and foremost, my whites are bright and clean -just like new! No dingy gray socks and towels anymore! Second, it is super quiet. You don't know it's on, even in the spin cycle. It is solid on the floor, with no jumping during the spin. It uses either low sudsing detergent or about half as much regular detergent. Large drum holds a family size load of clothes with very minimal water use. Setting it up out of the box is a bit challenging though. There are shipping bolts in the back and underneath the front. These must be removed! Read your instructions carefully because it's easy to miss the front ones. All in all, I wouldn't own anything else!
VERY BAD. DON'T BUY THIS WASHER! by brageous ,Jan 01 '07
Pros: None Cons: Stinky Clothes
We've had this washer for 1 year and it does NOT clean the clothes very well at all. Our clothes stink because they are not getting rinsed well enough. We have tried everything to correct the problem. We use the high efficiency detergent (which costs 3 times as much as regular)at the suggestion of the technician. We use 1/2 the suggested amount of detergent in an effort to reduce the soap residue. We have a water softening system which means less soap is required. We select the "Extra Rinse" option on the machine. No success. I just ran a VERY SMALL load of undergarments and put them through the rinse cycle FIVE TIMES!!! Still, soap suds were overwhelming.
