Pros: Read review Cons: Read review
We've gone through many deep fryers in the past trying to find the right one for our needs. We've been using the G.E. 4 Liter Stainless Steel Deep Fryer (model #168952) for about seven months now and we love it. This is by far the largest deep ...

Pros: Ready light, adjustable temp control, fairly easy to clean, can cook larger amounts at once. Cons: Hot to touch, letters came off temp control after 6 months of use, filter changes.
When we decided that our old de
ep
fryer just wasn't a good match for our family, we went to Wal-Mart to look into getting another FryDaddy
if possible. We really ...

Pros: Large capacity, with filter and easy clean up. Cons: It will become unplugged easily.
If you need a dependable hard working deep fryer, this one is for you. Im very impressed with the amount of food you can cook at one time. As the co-leader of a family support group I have a lot of different hats to wear. One is we do fund ...

I'm thrilled with this fryer!
by jasmine1234 ,Jun 04 '05
Pros: Cooks professionally, cleans easily. Temperature control is a plus. Be a chef with this fryer. Cons: only complaint is the lettering has kinda smudge off.
Okay I admit I was a cheaply for a long time, I have gone through about five different fryers over the last couple of years. I didn't pay more than $20.00 for one. They didn't do what this fryer does, I could not never take out the reservoir to clean it, so now with this one I can. That's a plus...! I love it. It cooks all my food to a professional level. The only thing is that the lettering kinda have smudge off. It cooks quick, you have to watch it or you will over cook it. But when it cooks it, it cooks it right...! Perfect tasting food, every time. It's a little big but that doesn't bother me actually it looks like I own a master piece..! So after trying out so many fryers this one tops them all. The reservoir is a plus because you can clean it with oven cleaner to bring it back like new. So this one I will stick with. This one get an A+

Poor Electrical Connections
by jtrew ,Jul 13 '05
Pros: Stainless steel body seems sturdy and cleans up well. Sturdy basket, too. Cons: Poorly designed electrical connections cause the unit to lose power during operation.
We've been using the model 168952 deep fryer for 6 or 8 months now, and we like it very well when it chooses to work. The connection between the cord and the unit makes a very poor connection. Not only does it take 2 or 3 minutes of jiggling the connection to get the power light to come on, but the connection will fail several times while cooking a meal. We bought it primarily to cook fish, and when the unit loses power, the fish is just soaking up grease, rather than cooking. That kind of ruins the fish, of course. Other than that one problem, we like the unit very much. When it's working, it does an excellent job.

Excellent!
by lynnemarie ,Sep 15 '05
Pros: Easy dials, easy clean-up, perfect temperatures, not so smelly Cons: Writing wipes away with multi-purpose cleansers: use only mild dish soap on a damp washcloth.
This is an easy-to-use, big-enough-but-not-too-big fryer for the person or family wary of frying foods. We got it for our wedding from my brother (once a gourmet chef) with the promise we wouldn't be able to live without it. After sitting on our shelf for six months we finally pulled it out, but only because barbecue season was well over.
We have gone CRAZY with this thing! The easy dials not only give you perfect temperature control, but pictures of what types of food are typically fried at that temperature as well. No guessing! It's sleek enough to leave on the counter without looking like a greasy burger joint. The filter makes it less smelly, too! It's easily disassembled for cleaning or storing the oil (it has a lid for the vat!).

GE Cool Touch # 168952 Stay Away from It
by bferris ,May 08 '04
Pros: Unit heated up fine, food cooked well. Cons: Lettering wipes off of the control unit. Handle fell off after second use.
I bought the fryer at WalMart,When I cleaned the unit for the first time the white lettering came off.I brought it back to WalMart and got another. When I used the the second fryer for the second time the handle fell off and the white lettering came off again when i wiped it with a paper towel.I then called the customer care number and complained. They told me that they were aware of the problem and had notified WalMart. The units are sill being sold.I also notified Consumer reports maybe they will have better luck getting them off the shelfs.I will try another product after I do some research.

GE Stanless Steel Deep Fryer
by zandrabarber ,Jul 27 '09
Pros: Great size for a small family. Cons: Construction is terrible.
I bought it at Wal-mart. The style and size was great, but the plug would not stay connected, the timer never worked properly an after about 20 uses the whole machine stopped working. I took it back and got a refund. This is my second small GE appliance that was a piece of JUNK!
