Pros: light inside, extended tumble, very easy, nice display, very quiet, many features, lightweight machine
Cons: lint filter system unacceptable, indicator too faint, moisture sensor doesn't work, servicing very expensive.
Summary: I purchased this dryer in Nov 2005. I was disappointed with it from day one. I probably should have returned it within the 1st 30 days. But I had other things to worry about other than a dryer at the time...and didn't want to add more money into ... read more

Pros: None! buy a better dryer than this one.
Cons: Costs way too much for it's weak features; Lint filter inadequate; weak/sporadic sensor cycle; more....
Summary: The hype from Consumer Reports states that this is the best dryer in its class. But after owning it for less than 4 weeks I'm returning it to the store! I have to pay a re-boxing fee for my troubles but it is worth it to get something better. The ... read more

Pros: Looks nice and convenient push buttons
Cons: DANGEROUS. it will not shut off automatically
Summary: We ordered our washer and dryer in April as our new home was nearing completion. The washer was delivered June 8th 2006 but because of 'production' problems dryer did not arrive until July 27th. That should have been the first clue. Then after it is ... read more

Pros: Recommended by Consumer reports. Modern style. Large drying capacity.
Cons: Long drying time. Erratic moisture sensor. Poor reliability.
Summary: I purchased this dryer following a positive review from Consumer Repoerts. They got this one wrong. The dryer never dryed properly. Had the GE Service evaluate it and they said it was normal. It took 50% longer to dry clothes than our old dryer. After a ... read more

Pros: large volume, inside lighting, user friendly
Cons: Lint leakage.
Summary: I too have the same issues as a previous poster said. My vent tube needs to travel about 14 feet before it gets exhausted to the outside. With a lot of the lint getting past the lint trap and building up over time inside the exhaust tube, this will ... read more

Pros: It looked good.
Cons: It ruined my clothes with the high temperature.
Summary: I bought the GE DPSB620EC dryer in 5/06 from Home Depot. I chose this dryer because of the good review from Consumer Reports. Within the first week, I realized that the moisture sensor worked erratically. Sometimes the dryer would not turn off and the ... read more

Pros: Large capacity, cycle options
Cons: Inferior lint filter leads to machine failure
Summary: The lint filter is a single screen in a frame and only catches a small portion of the lint. The rest of the lint wedges around the screen and fills up the cavity under the dryer and blows out the duct. We have about 14 feet of duct since our utility room ... read more

Pros: Alas, the pros don't matter when the cons are so big.
Cons: Moisture sensor doesn't work. Lint filter is marginal.
Summary: We bought it because of the Consumer Reports review. But the moisture sensor is very unreliable -- sometimes it works, other times it's hopeless. Also, it catches very little lint in the lint filter; most of it goes out the vent, into the garden. GE ... read more

Pros: Large capacity; nice looking unit
Cons: Broke down in five months and GE service is poor
Summary: We bought this at Home Depot in December 2005. In May, it stopped drying correctly. It would stop shortly after starting and didn't heat up fully. GE service has been very poor. On the first service call, the repair person called in and they wouldn't ... read more

Pros: Large capacity, many possible settings, drying rack
Cons: Lengthy wait for repair service, repairs needed in first year and a half.
Summary: I bought a GE Profile dryer a little over a year ago, based on good ratings from Consumer Reports and other on-line ratings. After much experimenting with settings, I finally got our clothes to dry almost as quickly and wrinkle-free as the 20-year-old ... read more
