Garmin GPSMAP 182C GPS Receiver

Pros: Great features, bright screen, easy to use.
Cons: No cartography, data cards or PC interface included. Garmin maps very expensive.

Can not beat the price for this unit if you search around (found mine for $405 from getfeetwet.com). Base map is a joke, so you have to factor in the price of either the Map CDs, data cards and data transfer kit or pre-programmed data cards. The unit does not include any data cards or even the interface for the PC. One you factor in these items which are proprietary from Garmin and expensive, then the newer units with built in cartography look a little more attractive. Still a very nice unit though. Very bright screen, very easy to learn and use, etc. Nema ver. not the latest, though.
