Pros: Size, features, radio, and GPS location sending Cons: Color options, battery use.
Garmin has been an industry leader in Global Positioning Service (GPS) for a long time. There really are only two at the retail, everyday consumer level that provide GPS, Garmin and Magellan. Now, Garmin has added two-way radio features to their latest ...
Pros: Easy To learn Interface, games, unique Identification Icons Cons: No data Cable Thumbstick for data entry is tedious, looses reception in heavy tree cover
I had the opportunity to use the Garmin Rino 110 GPS receiver that a friend had purchased for a hunting trip. I was able to use the unit for a number of months this summer and have found the unit to be great for hiking and other “non-demanding” ...
Pros: The yellow case makes it easy to find after throwing the unit in utter frustration. Cons: Everything about this unit was unbearable. Stick to a map and compass.
Well, after a series of frustrating and ultimately futile forays trying to get the Garmin Rhino 110 to work properly, I found myself thoroughly unhappy with this product. And I started off being really excited to get the 110 ! This began with the ...
Pros: I got my money refunded!! Cons: Very difficult to use. Be ready to call the Garmin tech help lines alot!
Here's a clue as to how well the Garmin 110 performed: The FIRST unit, brand new out of the box, managed to hook up with the Satellites just once and had to be shipped back to Garmin for a replacement. If you can't hook up with a satellite, the unit is ...
Pros: Good display, pretty easy to use. Fair battery life. Cons: Became problematic, unreliable and ultimately unusable.
You can read my previous review in the garmin 120 category. My garmin 110 started off good. But after using it for some time it started to develop problems. Such as... For no reason at all the garmin would lock up. The display would remain locked. ...
Pros: GPS works more or less as expected Cons: Radio is virtually useless in the woods.
I am very happy with the GPS functions and screens. The GPS does lose its satellite fix more often than my previous Garmin 12 handheld but overall I am satisfied.
I am not very happy with the two-way radio setup. I purchased the unit with the hope that I could carry one item instead of a separate radio and and GPS when hunting. I have not been able to talk with my hunting partner who also has the same unit over distances as short as 400 yards through the woods. These are distances that have posed no problems to my Motorola radio during past hunting seasons.
It will be a good backup GPS for my boat, but the radio does not perform well enough to use in the woods.
Dont buy if having the radio option is part of your deciding factor by racer77 ,Nov 04 '07
Pros: GPS by its self no problem Cons: The rest not worth the money buy a compass
2 mile radio range is total B.S. 1/2 mile at best and has allot of static noise at that range and that is on flat ground no mountains and few trees. I have been hunting all my life and dont need a GPS to find my way but bought 2 two be able to find my 16 year old son in the deep woods of maine where we hunt but the GPS to GPS locator only works if you have radio contact with the other GPS. As far as the way point finder being used by its self no problems yet? walked 1/2 mile in the woods at night and came back out easy. In the end i will have to carry my old reliable motorola talk abouts and the GPS when we go hunting. iam sure you can buy a good compass for the price of one of these units.

Pros: Very easy to use, Many features, Compact, integrated FRS & GMRS. Cons: buttons are small and sometimes difficult to use.
I purchased this unit a month ago to go Geocaching (an outdoor game). I have been very plesed with the wide vareity of features it boasts, including path tracking, the ability to store routes, and audio cues to let you know when you are approaching a specific point, turn, etc. The interface is very well organized and easy to navigate. All of the functions and controls are intuitive and easy to use. I noticed that some other reviews here had extensve lists of complaints against this unit. I have experianced none of the problems that they reported. You do need to take a little time to sit down with your unit and familiarize your self with it before you go out, but it is by no means difficult to figure out on your own or with the help of the quick start guide. Overall a very good choice for basic GPS navigation
Pros: Best little GPS I've ever used in the field, water or driving!
Cons: directions, they seem to be repetitive in some areas.
I have no idea what that looser was talking about. Maybe he's so whip simple that he needs a map to find the latrine!
I found the 110 an extra easy GPS to operate. To track the trip, you just need to change your range viewing distance to a lower number to fit your travels.
I've used it for tracking, fishing, hiking and vacations. Need to find the wife at a shopping mall, or one of your teenage kids at Disney world? The Garmin 110 is the answer.
Don't let these techno-challenged morons change your mind. If it's good enough for my son in Iraq to find his fellow Rangers, it is sure as hell good enough for me!
Wish this stuff was around in Nam.
