Pros: removable dishwasher-safe heating plates, variable temperature, timer Cons: big and heavy, replacing the plates can be "an act of faith"
Low Carb. Lo Fat. High Protein. Diets, diets, diets, diets!!! It's getting so that every time you turn around somebody's trying to tell you what's good for you and what's not. It's getting harder and harder to plan a meal, ...
Pros: Easy to use and clean, reliable, varied temperature settings Cons: The drip pan could be a little deeper.
Dumpster diving sometimes pays off. A couple of years ago while visiting an aunt in Houston I offered to carry her trash down to the parking garage. Her posh, University area condo often housed wealthy college students and when they graduated, well, ...
My husband wanted a George Forman grill for quite some time, so I purchased him one for his birthday. I wanted to get him one of the larger ones, because he already had the small, $20 George Foreman grill at work. After doing some research, I decided ...
Pros: Grates clean easily in dishwasher. Good cookbook. Cons: Grates do not clean well by hand. Heavy. Poor and uneven browning.
My only previous experience with George Foreman grills was the small GF "Champ" which was the smallest GF grill. I got it for $1.00 by joining Netmarket.com (and then canceled before the 90 day trial was up to keep the grill). I wanted to try the ...
Pros: Removable plates, timer, temperature control, cooks great Cons: does take up a lot of counter space, Plates don't "click" in place
I received this George Foreman GRP99 Next Generation Grill probably going on close to 2 years ago now as a gift from my husband one year for Mother's Day. Not the most romantic gift, but one that I had asked for. Our former ...
Pros: Sluicing makes for healthier meals, easy clean-up Cons: Well, it does take up some counterspace
When my boyfriend's mother bought the George Foreman Indoor Grill for him as a birthday present earlier this year, I was far from being a believer. My immediate thoughts were that it would eat up what was left of our minimal counter space, be a bear to ...
Pros: Plates can be removed and cleaned easily. Cons: Impossible not to overcook food which comes out rubbery and crispy.
As someone who hardly ever has the time or space to cook a real meal ... I am single, I have a small kitchen and a busy work schedule ... I heard about the George Foreman grill from a lot of college students with whom I worked. They swear by it ... so I ...
Pros: Healthy cooking, EZ to clean and use, Lots of food can be cooked on it. Cons: None at this time...
This grill came recommended to us as the plates are removable, the cooking space is large enough to cook for a small gathering, there is a Timer and Variable Temp control(300 to 425) along with the drip tray, and plastic food scraper. Regrettably, this ...
Pros: Makes good grilled cheese and tuna melt sandwiches. Fast and Easy to clean. Cons: Most meat tastes bad. Leaves nasty smell in the house.
This Model Number, GRP99, is the closest I can come to my product. My product is a GRP99B, Next Generation Grilling Machine. It does not say "sandwich" anywhere on the packaging or machine. Unlike a "sandwich maker", which you would expect to have a flat ...
Pros: Large easy to use grill with nice big buttons and an easy-to-read display. Cons: Flimsy plastic clips.
So my old GF grill died, finally. These grills don't seem to last more than 4-5 years. First, one of the buttons wore out, and then finally, the thing just wouldn't turn on again. So it's time for an upgrade. Enter the new George Foreman: The Next ...
Pros: Washable plates, LED display. Cons: Dies too soon, manufacturer can only do less than 50% to help for a replacement.
I received a Foreman grill for Christmas of 2006. I loved it!! I loved the fact that it has removable plates that make it easier to wash. I love the fact that it has a display that shows the temperature and a count down timer. I use on a regular basis ...
Hate the Removable Grill Plates by grannytoizzy ,Nov 10 '06
Pros: Cooks fairly fast Cons: Dangerous, grill plates do not stay locked in place!
This thing is dangerous. I've used it several times and the stupid grill plates refuse to lock in place. I am always afraid that whenever I cook with it I'm going to burn myself badly when the upper grill plate disengages.
Pros: Non-stick worked well, lots of space Cons: See above
I am used to doing high temperature work with my Calphalon fry pans, etc. When one cooks with high temperature, caramalization occurs and the food item takes on a certain texture. So, I was looking forwards to getting the Grilleration. I have done four different items (fish, boneless chicken breasts, steak, home-made hamburgers). Unfortunately, after watching the quantities of steam come out of the grill, all four items tasted "steamed" rather than grilled. And, it was that way to the rest of my family. Nobody was real impressed with it. So, I called up Salton Tech Support to see if there was something I was doing wrong. The person on the other end (who was quite understanding) said that this is a "feature" of the grill and that most people who don't or aren't used to high temperature work, generally don't notice the difference in taste/texture. But, he admitted, there certainly is a difference, but he felt it was outweighed by the fat reduction. After that conversation, I initiated actions to return the unit to Amazon.
So, for those of you that do high temperature work, be forewarned. This may not be the grill for you! What a disappointment....
Pros: Cooked food well & quickly Cons: stopped with in two months of having it
I loved my grill! cooked on it every night.. 2 months after i purchased it. It stopped working.. No signs, worked fine one day & not at all the next. NO Idea what went wrong.. Guess i'll try to return it. BUT to the store, i'm very unhappy with Salton, Inc's return policy.
Sandwich Maker?? My GRP99 says Lean Mean Fat Grilling Machine by geweleo ,May 07 '06
Pros: Ease of cleaning and removable grill plates Cons: over-priced; uneven browning (top and bottom differences); black residue forming on underside of grill plates.
First of all, don't waste your money buying one of these! Not only do we have to turn the food over during the cooking time to get fairly even browning, we have a huge issue with the removable grill plates forming a black sooty residue on the underside. This soot-like stuff gets all over everything. It doesn't matter whether I run the plates through the dishwasher or wash them by hand...I still get the sooty residue. Plates are also difficult to hook back up, especially the upper one. Sorry, George, but this one is NOT a winner!
