Pros: Good price Cons: Not as good as it should or could be
The Rage Fury MAXX looked like it was going to be one of those cards that go straight to the top of the market because it was offering the best components, the fastest components and the most memory on board. A whopping 64Mb RAM built onto the board...
Pros: dual processor, 64Mb of memory, solid performance Cons: not brilliant drivers, dual processors are only Rage 128 Pro's
This video card was a little bit revolutionary when it was first released, not because of it's performance or benchmarks, but because it was the first video card to be released with dual processors on. ATI had the right idea that this was the way to go,...
Pros: Bragging rights and just okay performance Cons: High price tag, loses out against Geforce and Viper II, short life
One look at the MAXX and you probably manage to convince yourself that this card is a whopping screamer. It should be that way, shouldn't it? I mean, look at the 64 megs of memory, plus we essentially have two Rage 128 chips on one card.
I am not a video card expert.I do know abit about hardware and lean heavily on both user reviews and such web sites as Toms Hardware and Sysop.com.
When I first heard about the MAXX card the amount of video memory (64)impressed me as did the price...
Pros: Solid performer with excellent features Cons: No TV out and pricey
This is ATI's new twin engine Hot Rod. In the world of 3D Graphics Accelerators, there are a number of ways to approach the issue of increasing fill rate, image quality and overall performance. One of these ways would be to redesign your graphics chip...
Pros: easy installation Cons: average of 20fps less on games, fails to live up to claims.
This card must be the most fraudulent card out on the market. It is the worst 3d graphics card i have ever bought. Before i purchased the Rage Fury Maxx i had a 3dFX Voodoo 3 3000 and i was getting very nice frame rates on games like Quake3, Unreal and...
Pros: not sure yet but I guess frame rate and memory Cons: Installation nightmare - Might need to rebuild a current win98 system
ATI seems to have pulled another "ATI"
It released a video card with poor driver support.
I have contacted ATI and they say to rebuild your computer. I did that and no luck. Still has major problems. Screen goes black with drivers...
Pros: Good dvd playback\decent gaming power Cons: Temperamental\has some bugs
My colleagues and i tested this card in several different spec machines to see how it performed. We first ran a test on the card in a AMD K6 500 with 128 megs of ram on a shuttle board. Its performance was glitchy while running Flight sim 2000 and GP3,...
Pros: 64 MB Ram Cons: Everything else about this board is BAD!
I bought a ATI Rage Fury MAXX for my new custom computer system and it became the center of problems that led to hours troubleshooting never fixed the problem. This "Great" card never worked right (I bought it brand new) so I returned and...
Pros: It looks pretty good Cons: *long time* to set up, limited compatibility
I purchased a custom built computer last month. I'd picked this video card because it was in my price range, and I liked the little I read on the manufacturer's page. I wish I had read more, like the FAQ that included the info on what operating systems...
Pros: twin-engine processor, 64MB of memory, 143Mhz memory bandwidth Cons: a bit expensive
The new ATI Rage Fury Maxx focus primarily on performance now, with its dual Rage 128 Pro Processor chip using MAXX technology, it will run smooth any on games and applications out there in the world. The impressive card features a big 64MB of onboard...
Pros: Great acceleration, benchmarks, huge cache Cons: Cost currently not worth purchase due to industry standards
ATI Brings in the New Year by releasing a graphics card with a whopping sixty-four megabytes of video memory, accompanied by dual graphic processors. It's just as easy to install as any other card; but be warned that it's a lot larger than previous ATI...
Pros: 64megs, dual processor.. Cons: Does not fit tightly into my motherboard. Sucks up way too much power.
I purchased this video card because it was the best at the moment, and i believe it still is. With 64megs and dual processor its on top! But, I have had many problems. 1: my video tends to lose power and my moniter goes totally black 2: my video card...
Pros: solid glitch free performance Cons: not on par with competition
I have to admit, I like ATI products, and I have always bought ATI, but as far as price/performance these days, this is not the card to get. The Maxx is indeed a good product, and does perform, but not nearly as much as one would expect.
