PNY Verto GeForce4 MX 420, (64 MB) PCI Video Card

This is an excellent video card for the average home user looking for great graphics. You would expect a great product from a great company and this is it. It can fit into just about anyone's budget. I would highly recommend this card to the average home user but for those who are hardcore gamers do not get this card. Although it is great and superb, it does not offer the power that you would need to get the most joy out of your newer games such as: Unreal Tournament 2003. It can power this game and give you startling graphics but if you want to truly experience games for what they are worth, then get a higher end GeForce 4 such as the Titanium series or if you are more into performance and price is not a matter, then, by all means, buy the ATI 9700 Pro. Either way this is a superb card that has found its way into my system and it will remain there until I choose that this product is obsolete and that time is not now.

This is not a card for someone who wants to see everything the latest games can produce. It doesn't even fully support some Direct x 8 features like pixel shading. But the cards that do cost $200 and up while this one offers someone who does not need the latest and greatest an inexpensive option. I upgraded my 2 year old, average performing computer and turned it into a PC that can keep up. I can now play my favorite games in 32 bit color, faster frame rates and no stuttering when too much AI comes on the screen. I love this card and it has refreshed my computer so I can keep it another 2 years. This card is for people who want to get the most out of their PC without spending big cash. By the way, I have a PCI slot and it still does plenty good enough so I can play most games with pretty good speed and graphics.

Very slow performance in games. Won't work with many online games. But reliable for non gaming applications such as power point and web surfing. I recomend getting an AGP video card because this one doesn't cut it for games because of its PCI bus. If you don't have an AGP port first slap who ever sold you the computer (fo gamers only) and then get a motherboard that supports AGP video cards because no matter how fast your PC is the PCI bus on this video card is not fast enough to play games correctly like battlefield 1942! I have 624 mbs of ram and an athlon 1400 mhz proccessor and my Geforce 4 MX 420 PCI video card makes the game unplayable. The frame rate drops to about 1.9 frames a second and you won't know what's going on! It plays RTS games better but still with only fair performance. The game will work if it's a newer RTS but not with dazzling graphics or stellar performance.
