Pros: Attractive, sleep and amazingly QUIET. Cons: None
One of the “benefits” of our new high efficiency heat pump is that it doesn’t run as often as the old one, but it also doesn’t dehumidify nearly as well either. Since we’ve had to progressively lower the thermostat ...

Pros: Cool running and QUIET QUIET QUIET QUIET!!! Cons: More expensive than comparable models.
This is the third and best dehumidifier I have tried. The other two were LG and GE 40 pint models. The LG and GE dehumidifiers worked very well. They could fill their collection buckets with water very quickly but were very loud, generating about as ...

Pros: Looks Good and is Quiet: For Awhile Anyway Cons: Worse Customer Service Ever.
I don't know how the SoleusAir 25 pint dehumidifier got such a high rating because 1) It never removed more than 10 pints in 1 day even though the humidity level in my closed bedroom started out at 80%. In fact, once the humidity level reached 50% it ...

big disappointment
by pcgamer99 ,Feb 02 '07
Pros: worked well for 1 year Cons: makes a poor door stop
worked well for 1 year. then it dies on me. no one and i mean
no one repairs them except the manufacturer. shipping, etc.
makes it cost prohibitive for that. the warranty was for 1 year
on parts and labor. the 800# to soleus was worthless.

So far, so quiet!
by jepkap ,Aug 15 '06
Pros: Quiet, efficient Cons: Power level of "quiet" should be named "low/quiet"
My former dehumidifier, a 50 pint unit died. I purchased this one because of it's purported quietness and, it has lived up to that expectation. My basement is about 800 square feet. I wanted the Soleus 40 pint unit but it was out of stock so I tried the 25 pint unit. As my basement is a little damp without a dehumidifier, I figured maybe the 25 pint unit would still do the job and it has, although I leave the unit on all the time. Still, it is rated at 220 kwh whereas my former unit was rated at about 450 kwh, running intermittingly. I think the energy costs are about even, although since the Soleus unit is on all the time, the basement seems to be a little drier.
The power level indicator offers three levels: medium, high and quiet. I've never heard of a power level being "quiet" and as I learned, quiet is really "low" (I think). Finding 50 mm tube for continuous drainage was tough but I was able use 5/8" tube and that has fitted just fine.

A fantastic Dehumidifier for apartments
by boyziggy ,Sep 21 '06
Pros: Small, quiet, rugged, and designed to work in your home Cons: many local retailers don't carry it
I've had this for 2 weeks now, and it had no problem lowering my RH by 30% in my 600 sqr foot apartment. I started off just using it in my bedroom to get rid of dust mites. However I soon realized that this is powerful enough for my whole apartment. Unfortunately, as soon as i turn it off humidity starts to go back up again. It puts out a little heat, but on the whole it's a fantastic little machine that I highly recommend.
It's as quiet as most cooling fans, small enough to hide, and well constructed. My only complaint is that I had to order it online instead of buying it from a local retailer.
If you want a great dehumidifier actually designed for your home rather then your garage, you should buy the Soleus CFM-25 Dehumidifier.

SOLEUS DEHUMIDIFIER
by kandu ,Jun 06 '08
Pros: QUIET. Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WARRANTY NOT GOOD.
CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS ALONG WITH THEIR WARRANTY.
LASTED 8 MONTHS.THE CLIP ON THE DRAIN PAN BROKE. WAS TOLD BY MANUFACTURER TO RETURN IT TO THEM AND THEY WOULD SEND A NEW ONE FREE OF CHARGE. COST $70.00 TO UPS IT TO CALIFORNIA. YES! THEY SENT A NEW ONE. WHILE THIS ONE WAS OUT FOR SERVICE I BOUGHT A GE. IT IS STILL RUNNING. WENT TO USE THE REPLACEMENT SOLEUS AND IT DOESN'T WORK. CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY STARTED WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE FIRST ONE AND THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED.THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO FIX IT IF I RETURN IT TO THEM.
LESSON LEARNED. ALWAYS BUY WITH A IN STORE WARRANTY.

A great QUIET home dehumidifier
by wrshow ,Jul 13 '06
Pros: QUIET QUIET QUIET. A great compact efficient unit. Cons: None yet (one week use)
Because of a remodel, we had to spend much of the summer in the basement with a Whirlpool dehumidifier which was so loud you could not be in the same house let alone the same room. The Soleus was touted at a good QUIET unit so we gave it a try. It is truly a great quiet unit. You can in fact sleep 10ft away from it with it on with no trouble. If you didn't have to empty the water you would never know the unit is on. A great dehumidifier. It appears solid and well built, has a handle and wheels to easily move around, and has nice simple controls for fan speed and humidity level. It seems to maintain about 60% humidity in a 400 SF basement in the south with no trouble. I would highly recommend this unit. It it the finest unit I have used.

Working well for me, may buy another
by cliffblob ,Sep 11 '06
Pros: Very effective at removing moisture form the air, also very quiet, simple controls Cons: Small reservoir has to be emptied twice a day, generates a fair amount of heat
This unit is working quite well in my basement where I have been struggling with mold problems due to the high humidity. I am not sure how big the reservoir is but I wish it was bigger as the unit pulls water from the air so effectively I have to empty the reservoir twice a day. Also, another review suggests there is a continuous drain option, I was going to list the lack of this option as a con, but will just say, I do not think that is an option. The unit generates some heat but I have little to compare to so I am not sure if it is more or less than other units.
