After coping with 3 dehumidifiers in the past 18 months, the fourth time is the charm. This one works. It is quiet and effective. It removes water at a rate better than the noisy Whirlpool I just returned (see my review at Whirlpool AD50USL Dehumidifier). This unit is very, very quiet. It is as loud as a marshmallow dropping on a pillow in a padded room.

I will say it has a Fisher-Price quality to it. It is all plastic, and some elements don't look to be all that rugged. But who knows, some of those plastic toys can last a long time.

The only downside, is that the bucket is too small, and lacks any real handle to pull it from the machine or to carry it. What it means is a couple of careful unloadings and water dumping per day. I guess if one attaches a hose to it, that is not an issue

On balance, it is a small inconvenience considering it is head and shoulder above any other machine. It is also less expensive than its antiquated competitors, and it uses less energy than they do. And did I mention it is ....ssssshhhhhhhh .....quiet?
